~ Mr. Bryan, owner of property at the s.:>uth'West corner of Bay Avenue end
Rogers Street was present bnd inquired concerning permission to cons'truot an
apartment house building within ten feet of the street (Rogers Street). The
CommissIon advised Mr. Bryan to toke the mattor up with the Zoning Board before the
next regular meeting of the COIT~ission at which time probably a definite decision
could be given. w~. Hendrix read a petition signed by property owners on Rogers
Street against changing the building lines. This petition is set out in full below.
It 'Wss moved by Mr. Smith seconded by Mr. Lowe ~nd carried that OrdinBnce
No. 515 be passed on its second ~nd third readings. This ordinence is set out below.

It was moved by 1~. Stoutamire seoonded by Mr. Lowe and o~~ried that
W H Tipton be authorized to operate one sdditionbl taxi but that the application
~r Jim P. Edwards to operate a taxi be denied.
City Manager Hendrix reported that a representlitlve of Burns &. MoDonnel1
Engineering Company would probably be in Clearwater' within the next ten days to discuss
with the Commission details of a possible electrical survey. A letter from Burns &
McDonnell is set out below.
Mayor Seevy suggested for the Commission's consider~tion the paving of
Cleveland Street fr.Jm Fort Harrison i;.venu to Osceola ;~venue, the same to be a
oontinuation of the paving to be done by the St8te Road Department which 1s to stop
at Fort Harrison Avenue; also that oonsideration be given to the use of a more aoute
angle in the parking of automobiles and the placing of penny parking meters in all
perking spaoes in the down-town business area.

BE IT OhDAD~ED BY 'lIHE UITY COMMISSIUN OF mE CITY OF CLEARnATER. FLORIDA:
Section 1. That the ~outhern ~tandard Building Code as adppted
by the SouthernBuildin~ Code Congress, and as the same may be from time
to time amended by the Southern Building Gode Congress. exoept the sohedule
of permit tees, be and the same is hereby adopted as the Building Code of
the Ulty ot Clearwater.
Section 2. That per.mit tees shall be charged as now ~rovided or
as may hereafter be provided by ordinances of the City of Clear~ater.
, Seotions 3. ~hat from and after the adoption of this ordinanoe,
no buildings or. struct~res of any kind shall be ereoted 1n the City of
Clearwater unless the standards and specifications comply with the requirements
as set forth in the Southern Standard Building Code.
Section 4. Any person. firm or corporation who ,shall violate the
provisions of this ordinance shall, upon convllotion thereof in the Munioipal
Court of the City of Cleawater, be punisped by a fine not exceeding Two
Hundred Fifty Dollars ($250.00) or by imprisonment in the City Jail ror a
period not exceeding ten (10) days, or by both such fine and i.mprisonment
in the discretion of the Municipal Judee.
Section 5. This ordinance shall become effectiwe immediately
upon its passage and adoption by the City Commission of the City of \Jlearwatel',
Florida.
