did not desire to continue negotiations oonoerning the old fish pltlnt building.
On a motion by 1':r. Gr ice, seoo nded by h:r. StOll tamire, an Ordinanoe was passed
on its first reading which set up e fourth zone for the sale of blooholic liquor -suoh
zone to be at the northeast corner of ralmetto bnd North Greenwood, and oonwosed of
property solely owned by Vence Borden. Gommissioners 3eavy and .::imith against suoh
motion. 1he motion was cartied by the votes of Grice, Stoutamire, and Lowe.
T'he Oity Commissi.:>n approved the plans of I'wlr. Frbnk Booth relative to the plant-
ing of flowers and agreed to pay the labor costs incident to seed, cultivating, trbns-
planting, etc. The Commissi.)n agreed tJ ereot a oomfort station near the west end of
Davis Causeway subjeot to details to be worked out later, also to oooperate with the
State hoed Department in furnishing water for plants on the causeway.
There was before the Commission 8 letterfrom C. ~. Ware resigning his post 8S
Munioipal Judge. It W8S moved by lv:ir. ..Jmith, seoondedbj' Mr. Lowe, and oarried :hat the
resignation be acoepted.

It was moved by Mr. Smith. seconded by Mr. Stoutemire, and carried unanimously
that William M. Goza Jr. be appoLnted Oit;v Judge for the unexpired term of C. E. "are
subjeot to the return of George Smith., former Judge a nd now in th e Armed Servioes.
Mr. Hendrix read e letter from Mr. J. O. Houze whioh proposed on behalf of the
Ci ty Planning Board tha t the 0 i ty Commission consid er ways and means of more properly
designating ~he street n~Les and house numbers of Jlearwater. This matter was referred
to the Oity Manager.
The Board had before it b letter from Robert M. Thompson oonoerning repairs to
the foot ball stands a t Green .l!'ield. IIhe Oommission rel) ue sted l,ir. Hendris, to iaspect
the stands end proceed wi th the ne.oessary repqir work.
A con~unicetion from the ~lectric5l Examining Uo~rd relbtive to the appointment
or new members to the ~08rd end suggesting possible changes to the ~leotrical Code.
It was moved by Mr. Grice, seconded by fur. Smith, and carried that Otis MoFarland be
~ppointed tothe ~lectrical Board. Oity ~ttorney riichards was requested to incorporate
into an Ordinance any proposed changes to the Eleotrioal Oode.
Officials of the Florida Power Co. were present and discussed with the Com-
mission the question of the renewal of the electrioal franchise. No definite action was
taken and the Commission took the matter under advisement for investigation and further
study:'
The Commission agreed to bear one-third of the oost of oonstruotion of a sea
well across the west end of ~ldridge Street.
