The City Commission met in regular session the evening 01 J:~~~;e v
P. M. with the following members present:
George R. Seavy, Herbert Grioe, Dan stoutamire, Sumner Lowe.
Absent: Jesse G. Smith
The meeting was oalled to order and the minutes of the previous meeting were
read end approved.
Attorney Wightman representing Vance Barden requested the Commission to revise

the present liquour ordinances so as to permit the establishing ot a liquor store in
the oolored quarters. The Commission declined to take any aotion pending a full at-
tendance of the Commission, and an investigation by the City Attorney. A. H. Collins
was present and made objeotion tothe establishing of suoh a Btore.
Mr. Tarvin, on behalf of the Clearwater Yacht Club, offered $2000~OO tor the Fish
Plant Building, the same to be torn dawn and removed with the understanding that the
City lease the land involved to the Yacht Club. No final action was taken pending
an understanding concerning the providing of a permanent home for the Eee-Scouts.
Attorney Riohards now read Ordinance #507 for the second time. It was moved
by Mr. Grioe, seconded by Mr. Lowe and carried that Ordinance #507 be passed on
I: its second reading. This ordinance was read the third time and on motion at Mr.
Grioe, seconded by Mr. Lowe, the same was adopted. This ordinance is set out
below and is an amendment to Zoning Ordinance No. 455.

tion vacating part of Tusoawilla street be adopted. Below is set out such a

The meeting was called to order and the minutes of the previous meeting were
read and approved.
Attorney Wightman representing Vance Barden requested the Commission to revise
the present liquour ordinances so as to permit the establishing of a liquor store in
the colored quarters. The Commission declined to take any aotion pending a full at-
tendance of the Commission, and an investigation by the City Attorney. A. H. Collins
was present and made objection tothe establishing of such a Qtore.
Mr. Tarvin, on behalf of the Clearwater Yacht Club, orfered $2000.00 for the Fish
Plant Building, the same to be torn down and removed with the understanding that the
City lease the land involved to the Yacht Club. No final action was taken pending
an understanding concerning the providing of a permanent home for the fea-Scouts.
Attorney RiChards now read Ordinance #507 for the second time. It was moved
by Mr. Grice, seconded by Mr. Lowe and carried that Ordinance #507 be passed on
,. its seoond reading. This ordinance was read the third time and on motion of Mr.
Grice, seconded by Mr. Lowe, the same Was adopted. This ordinance is set out
below and is an amendment to Zoning Ordinance No. 455.
It was moved by ~r. Lowe, seconded by Mx. Grice, and carried that a resolu-
tion vacating part of Tuscawilla Street be adopted. Below is set out such a
resolution.

involving the City's participation in the Lanham Act Funds be adopted.

REGULATING THE LOCATION AND USE OF BUILDINGS
A~ STRUCTURES IN THE CITY OF CLEARWATER,
FLORIDA, CREATING DISTRICTS OR ZONES THEREFOR,
REGULATING THE INTENSITY OF USE OF IAND AREAS
AND THE LOCATION OF BUILDINGS ANn STRUCTURES
THEREON, ESTABLISHING BUILDING LINES, PROVID~
ING A METHOD OF ADMINISTRATION, AND PROVIDING
PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION O~' THE TERMS OF
THIS ORDINANCE".
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA:
1. That Ordinanoe No. 4.55 of the city of C1earwllter, known as "The
Zoning Ordinance of 1939", be and the same is hereby amended as hereinafter stated.
2. That from and after the passage of this ordinance, all provisions
of Ordinance No. 4.55 of the City of Clearwater relating to the use of property in
the "R-l Residence Distriot" shall apply to and govern the use ot all property em-
braoed in the plat of Mandelay Subdivision, Plat Book 14, pages 32 to 35 inclusive,
public records of Pinellas County, Florida, except Block 21 as shown on said plat;
and shall apply to and:-overn t.he use of all property embraced in the plat of Man-
delay Point Subdivision, Plat Book 20, page 68, public records of Pine11as County,
Florida, and ~ba11 apply to and govern the. use:of all property embraced in the
plat of First Addition to Mandalay Point, Plat Book 20, page 71, public records
of Pine~las County, Florida.
3. That from and after the passage of this ordinance, all provisions
of Ordinance No. 455 of the City o~ Clearwater relating to the use of property in
the "Btt Business Distriot shall apply to and govern the use of all property em-
braced in Block 21 as shown on the plat of Mandalay Subdivision, Plat Book 14,
pages 32 to 35 inclusive, pUblic records of Pine11as County, Florida.
4. The use districts hereby established, together with their boundn-
ries, axe shown in full upon a oertain map marked "1945 Amendment to the Zoning
Ma~ of the City o~ Clearwater, Florida,", signed by the Mayor-Commissioner, City
Auditor and Clerk, and City Manager, dated June 18, 1945, consisting of one sheet,
'Which said map aocompanies and by reference thereto is hereby made a part of this
Ordin'9nce.
