Meeting of March 5, 1915. ~
The City Commission of the City of Clearwater, Florida, met
in regular session on the even:lng of MaY'ch flftp, 1945, at 8:00 o'clock p.m, in the
City Hall, with the following members present:

The meeting was duly called to order by Mayor Seavy, and
the minutes of the previous meeting were read an9 approved.
The first order of business was the application of two
parties for taxi-cab per-mi ts. These applications are set out elsewhere in these
minutes. It was moved by Mr. Smith, seconded by Mr. Stoutamire, and carried, tl:at the
applications be placed on file and that investigations of the qualifications of the
applicants be made.
The Commission had before it a letter from Mr. Truman Green,

President of the Tampa Chamber of Corr.merce, relative to a meeting to be held March eighth,
in Tampa, concerning oil drilling on Florida's Gulf Coast. The letter was ordered filed.
City Manager Hendrix reported that he had received two bids
covering the construction of a concrete block fence around Brooklyn Field. These bids
are set out below. The Commission took the matter under advisement.
Mr. Hendrix reported that he had received a $10,000.00 cash
of~er from J. R. Brumby for the purchase of the Brumby Marine Ways site. The Commission
approved the sale to Mr. Brumby, provided the lease now held by Mr. Brumby could be can-
celed, and that the property be subject to city taxes. Set out below is a description
of the property covered by this offer.
Ci ty Attorney Ralph Richards now read to the Board a Proposed
Retirement and Pension Plan coveringthe employees of the City of Clearwater. The City
Commission deferred any action upon the matter until it could be discussed by a fUll
Board, and gone into more in detail.
Mayor Seavy, on behalf of the Corr.mission, complimented the
Clearwater Poli ce ?orce up()n .t t s go od work in solving several l"ecent robberies, and the
Mayor also expressed satisfaction with the fine cooperation given the Police Department
by the City of St. Petersburg, and the County Sherrif's office.
There being no further businessto borne before the Board, the
meeting was adjourned.
