The City Commission met in vegulat session the evening of Jan.15,l945

A Mr Sink appeared before th e Boar d relative to the purohase by him of th e
01 ty' s ri$ ts in the Marine Ways mw operated by ;r. R. Brumby. The Comn ission
suggested that Mr. Sink meet with-l..the City Manager and the City Attorney
concerning definit e offer, tit le &. etc.
The Comnisslon unanimal sly vo ted a do nati:::>n not to exceed $ 200.00 to
the Veteran's .ci.dvis ory Com:ni tt"be ;:Jf Cle&rwater. w.r G. L. Kennedy was pl~esent
on behel f of the Conmitt ee.
The re was bef;:>re tile Board a petiti-~n s :!gned by approx.imately 120 ne gross
asking that .hlbert WrIght, negro, be granted permission to praotice the plumb-
ing trade in the colored section. Albert Wright ~n-,a2.1ettertel:Bo_reQuested
such permission. The Comnission were all in accord that speoial permits
should not be grant ed, but that the matter should be h.andled by the usual and
legal, procedur e of examination.
It was m~ved by Mr. Grice, seconded by Mr. Lowe and carried that the
following pro~erty between the library 6nd Cleveland Street be pGrchased
fro~ E. H. Coachman at a price of $ 40,000.00. Said property fronting on
Osceola Avenue 200 ft and running west 725ft (dimensions include street);

City Attorney Ri~hards reported that should the City desire to regulate net
fishing in the bay, that an enabling aot of the State Legisla ture granting the
City this authority would be necessary.
