The City Commissioners,
Genl temen:
Eight of the courts on the East side, built 14 years ago, are
now practically useless. We have delayed repair work as long as possible.
.!
Last year our membership was 515.
it will be larger.
This year the probabilities are that
We have conferred with a contrector, and find that the cost of
carting away the old material and building new courts will be $ 250.00
per court, a total of t 2,000.00.
.,.',
t':', .
We have two Ylar Bonds of about ~j 750.00 each, and ~;. 500.00 in
cash. Thus to pay the entire ~ 2,000.00 cost would leave us without
money for running expenses. I am thus asking the City to share the cost
with us. My suggestion would be that the club furnish ~ 1',000.00, and
the City become responstble for the balance, not ~o exceed ~ 1,000.00.
The contractor says that if the City would cart away the old material the
cost would be very much reduced.
..
I trust that this suggestion will meet with your favorable
oons1<feration.
Sincerely,
(Signed( Fred H. Spinney,
President,
Clearwater Shuffleboard Club.
