The City Cormrlssion of the City of Clearwater Florida met in regular session
the eveilimg of May 1, 1944 at 8:00 P. l~i. in the City Hall, with the following
members present:

The meeting was duly culled to order by Mayor Seavy and the minutes of the
previous meeting were read 5nd approved.
Mr. Al Rogero and three youn~ people representing the Jouth Council appeared
before the 'co &rd rela ti ve to the C1 ty makinb use of the Peace Memorial Gymn-
asium for youne; people. The Ci ty Commission instructed 11r. hoe;ero to to.et
a more definite commitment from the Board of Deacons of the Presby:ter.Lan
Church relative to the 0ity's use of the building also to ascertain for sure
whether the younb people would prefer the Gymnasium over their present
meetinb place in the i~udi torium.

Ci ty Ivianager Eendrix read a resolution passed by th e .Ac1erican Legj:on of
Clearwater requesting the City Commission to move the flat, pole and
Memorial at the foot of Cleveland Street to the Puzrk V:ay in front of the
said Auditorium. It was moved by Mr. .Lowe seconded by l/:r. 3toutamtre and
oarried that the opinion as expressed in tte resolution be approved.
