The meeting was oalled to order by Mayor Seavy and the minutes ot the previous
meeting were read and ap~roved.
The Commdssion had before it a petition Signed by twenty property owners
living on Druid Road in the Harbor Oaks section, asking thAt the Commission prohibit
military traftic on Druid Road in the Harbor Oaks section. A oopy of this petition is
set out elsewhere in these minutes. The Commission took no action on the petition.
City Manager Hen4rix now read to the Board the bid of A. O. Dunlap tor
drilling one 10" well at $2.75 ~er toot, and pulling one Turbine pump and setting
two new ones for $300.00. There were no other bids for this work.Also peesented by
Mr. Hendrix were bids on two turbine well pumps, sub~1tted by Cameron and Barkley Co;
and Dave Gordon & Company. Moved by Mr. Lowe, seconded by Mr. Smith and Carried that
the oontract for drilling be let to Mr. A. O. Dunlap .~X~..S at the priCe submitted
by him and that the offer of Cameron & Barkley Company be acoepted ---$1117.00 per pump.

Bids will be received by the City of Clearwater, Flori9a, on
Friday, May 29th, 1943, for drilling one ten-inch well. The bids for the
drilling are to b~_.figured by the foot; also, setting of casing and install-
ing pumping unit at Magnolia Subd~vision, Clearwater, Florida. The location
is to be determined by the representatives of._ the City. Also" the removing
of one pumping unit noVl in place and replacing it with one new pumping unit
as supplied by the City of Clearwater. All work is to be in accordance with
the specificat~~ns. _
1. After drilling, well is to be tested with ci ty-pur'c.Lased,.
pump~ placed in position, in the presence of the Superintendent of the Water
Department, and the City Engineer. .
2.' Well driller to carry public liability and property damage
insurance in the amount of ~5,OOO.OO.
3. That the following test be applied: Th~s pipe is to be
free of all dents or any obstructions wtatsoever and shall be true in line
vertically or in less than 1/2" variation from top to bottom. The same test
is to be made and agreed to as found by the City representative.
4. The City to pour concrete floor for pump 110use and erect
house as soon as well is tested.
5. All conditions not covered by these specifications shall
be settled by the City Manager> and his decision sball be final.
6. The successful 'bidder will take care of all State, County,
and City Licenses; or other taxes, pay a~l Social S~curity if ~eces~ary, Qe-
fore the final payment is made by the City.
7. All building and electrical work in connection with ,_the
pumping station will be furni~hed by the City of Clearwater.
8. All conditions wl1icb shall from time to time present them-
selves and not covered by the specifications. shall be settled by the City
Manager, or the City Engineer, and their decisions shall be final.
, 9. The successful bidder will furnish for the drilling of this
well machinery and equipment which shall be in first class condition, and that
the City Manager, or the City Engineer, shall have the right to condemn the
