City Manager Hendrix reported that the City had taken delivery of the oar purohased for the Polioe Department from Larry Dimmitt Ins.J and that the old police oar was sold to Otis E. Pruitt, Buick Dealer. for ,5v5.00 Mr. Hendrix also reported that L. B. Moody had made a down payment on Lots 1 to 15 inc Block B Boulevard Heights Subd, and that the City had ordered the abstraot. . .\ ;i. .'.J.., .~ . .' '. q; ,"\ .1:: City At~orney Ralph Richards read a resolution aocepting by the City ot -5200.00 from the U. S. Government to be used for recreation purposes by the City for the armed forces. Moved by Mr. Smith seoonded by Mr. Stoutamlre that the Resolution be adopted. Motion oarried. and oarried M8ved by 14r. Stoutamire seoonded by Mr. Smith/that the alley west of Lots 2 & 3 ates SUDd b~ vaoated. This was in resp~nse to a r~ques.t by the First Christian Church . presented ~ Mr. Riohard~a proposed "Post War Plann1~ Bill" s~on8ored by the Pinellas County Commission and providing for the assessment by tne County of a special 1 mi~l tax --moneylto be spent from the fund,llupon reoommendation by the City Government in so rar as to the amount of money oolleoted within the City liUdts. The County Commission having in some oases the right to refuse such recommendation. Mr. Ri~bards was instructed to take the matter u~ further with the County Commission especially in regard to the money being used to match Federal Aid Projeota. , The meeting was now convened as a Equalization Board.
