The meeting was duly called to order by Mayor Seavy end the minutes of the
previous meeting were reed and approved.
City Manager Hendrix now opened and read to the Board the 011 and Grease Bids.
Mr. Middleton checked over the bids and recommended that the Sino18ir Refining Company be
given the contract for the next year. Moved by Mr. Smith seconded by Mr. Lowe and oarried
that the bid of the Sinclair 011 Company be aooepted.
Mr. Hendrix reported that the Hillorest Association wsnted the permission of
the City Commission to enter into an agreement with the iROCJ Boy Scouts oonoering a Joint
use of the Boy clcout Hut on North Highland Avenue. By general consent the Commission granted
suoh permission.
Moved by MX. Smith seconded by 1~. Lowe and carried that the purchase bf $23,900.00
City of Clearwater Rerunding Bonds on Feb 19th, 1943 be approved. The bonds were purohased
at Sitx 88 end accrued interest by the Gas & Water Department.

The City Commission by general consent approved the fOllowing propqsed legislative
laws:A BILL TO BE ENTITLED: An Act Authorizing the Accumulation of a Fund to be Used
Exclusively in Connection With the Institution and Completion of Post War Public Works
Proje~ts By the Board of County Commissioners of Pinellas County, Florida, Singularly or in
6onjunction With Any---- this law permits the County Commission to levy an extra 1 mill per
year for the above purpose. The Commission also approved a proposed law eliminating the
necessity of voters having to register with the ~iXJxx~ Cities ta in order to take part in
City and Town elections---- %ki~x1~ registration with the County being surflcient.
The Commission also approved a proposed law giving the County authority to operate BZ
a Reforestation Program in ~lnellss County and empowering the County Commission to levy a
tax su~fiaient to carryon such program. .
The City Atuorney reported that the Junior Chamber of Commerce had e~tered~~nto
aeleaseho1d agreement with the United States of AmericaK, leasing the Club-House on Clearwater
Beach for usa of U S Coast Guard for a period of up to 1953 at the option of the Government--
at a yearly rental of $1500.00. 'Moved by Mr. Lowe seconded by Mr. Stoutamire and carried
that the sub-lease to the government be approved., '
The City attorney also reported that the Office of Defense Transportation had only
stopped the operation of two taxis in Clearwater~-- that taxis that were in operation prior
to Sept 1st were allowed to continue even th~ugh a City License bad not been purohased until
after Sept 1st 1942.
Mayor Seavy as requested the City Manager to contact MX. M. F. Hbll , and ask
him to run the east-bound buses according to schedule.
There being no further business to come before the Board the meeting
was adjourned.
