.......THE MINUTES OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA:
The C1~ Commission of the City of Clearwater, Florida met in
regular session, September 21.. 1942 at 8:00 O'clook P. M. in tha auditor-
ium of the C1 ty Hall w1 th the following members present:
Geo. R. Seavy, Mayor Uommissioner
Jesse G. smith, Commissioner
Dan L. stoutamire, Comm.1ss1oner
Sumner R. Lowe, Commissioner
D. C. Smith, Co~mlssioner
The meeting was duly called to order by Mayor George R. Seavy
and tl~ minutes of the previous meeting were read and ppproved.
The question of re-surfaoing eight shuffleboard courts again
being considered, the oommission were still of the opinion that WPB
regulations forbude suoh type of " oonstruoti on.
City Attorney Ralph'Richards now read an Ordinanoe to be known
as Ordinanoe No. 489~ and amending Uooupational ~ioense Ordinanoe No 479.
The ordinanoe as read was ohanged, by order of Commission, to plaoe the
general"iioense for Automobile dealers at $25.00 instead of a base license
of $25.00 with additional oharges for paint shops and garages if operated
in oonneotion w.lth the sales agency.
Moved by Jesse G. smith, seconded by SUmner R. Lowe and oarried
that Ordinance M489 be passed on its first reading. Moved by D. c. snith
seconded by Dan L. Stoutamire and oarried that Ordinanoe No,481 be passed
on its seoond reading. Movod by Dan L. stoutamire, seoonded by Sumner
R. Lowe and carried that Ordinanoe No 489 be passed on its third and fin~l

In all oases where the license tax depends on the stook o~
merchandise, the tax shall be oomputed aooording to the stock of mer-
chandise on hand as of the first day of the license year for which t~e
license is issued. In all such cases the applicant shall file with
the City Clerk an arfldavit stating as aoourately as ppssible the value
of the stock of merchandise on hand as of the first day of the lioense
year, and also stating the exaqt value of the stook o~ merchandise as
shown by the last merohandise i~ventory taken by the appllaant.
Any ordinance or parts of ordinanoes in oon~lict herewith be
and the swne are hereby repealed.
This ordinanoe shall beoome e~feotive immediately upon Its
passage and adoption by the City Commission of the City of Clearwater,
Florida.
The question of resignation of G. Ra~ond Lee from the Civil
servioe Board ooming before the Board, Mayor Seavy sugsested that the
resignation be aooepted and that F. W. Hendry be considered for the
positlon. Moved by D. C. smith, seoonded by Sumner R~ Lowe and carried
that the resignation or Mr. Lee be aocepted and that F. W. Hendry be
appointed to the unexpired ter.m of Mr. Lee, Said term exp1ring July
