A r,?, ??n ?1 ?zl, ,ry 7 f "?:? a. i? ?x THE MINUTES OF THE CITY CO?,'QSSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA: The City Comnisaion of the City of C?,earwater, Florida met in regular session July 20th, 1942 at 8 P. M. in the City Hall with the following members present: Geo. R. Seavy, Mayor-Comnieaioner D. C• Smith, Commissioner $wnner R. Zowe, Commissioner l}an L. Stoutamire, Cowniasioner Absent: Jesse G• Smith The meeting was duly called to order by Mayor Seavy and the minutes of the previous meeting were approved as read. The City Attorney Ralph Richards reported that as Par as he could find out the State plan for handling Polioe retixements had not stated to operate. The question of closing hours for liquor establishments was discussed and the City Attorney was requested to check over our present Ordinance, to see if the same included places selling beer and wine. Mayor Seavy suggested that the City Comalission wait to see ithat rules the U. S. Government would set before possibly making an amendment to the present ordinance. Mr. 0. C. Loeffler and Mr. A• H. Collins, liquor dealers ?$ Clearwater discussed with the City olosing hours of places selling liquor, beer and wine. City Manager Hendrix reported that the City was burning a considerable amount of its own gas tar now in the making of gas due to limited storage facilities and inability to use the gas tar for street purposes due to government restrictions.
