The City Cotariission of the City of Clearwater, D'loxida met in
regular session at 7:30 P.D1 June 1?, 192 in the auditorium of the City
Hall with the following members presont:

The I.4eeting was duly called to order by Mayor Seavy and the
minutes of the previous meeting ?vere approved as read.
City It,4anager Hendrix reported that there was X32,000.00 in
the Sinking Fund for Bond retirement and that legal notice was being
run in tho Bond Buyer calling for tenders returnable July 6, 1942.
It appeared that the State & County had abated the taxes on
Lot 9, Blocl: 5 Gould ? Etiving, 2nd Addn. for the year 191,0; being
the property of Flossie 1'J. T+Sorris. DZr. E. B. Casi:er, Jr. xeported
to the Commission that it was his understanding that the City had
promised to abate the City Taxes for the year 1940. I;ioved by
?r. Lowe, seconded by Dir. Stoutamire and carried t13at the 1941
Taxes amounting to X170.72 on Lot 9, Bloek 5 Gould & Ewing , 2nd
Addn. be abated instead of the 1940 Taxes as taxes for this year had
been sold at the tax sale to outBide parties.
City D4anager Hendrix reported the destruction by burning
of t? X1,000.00 Sewer Bonds as ordered by the City Commission.
City D`ianager Hendrix said that Idr. John Chestnut, I,Zenber
of the Board of County Comc?issioners had inquired of him whether the
City would be willing to deed to the bounty the lot immediately east
of the County Health Unit property on East Cleveland Street being
Lot 1?, Clearwater Iieiglits. It appeared that the County would use
the lot to erect an auditorium on. P,ioved by Dlr. Lowe, seconded
by I?Sr. '?. C. Sm.i.th and carried unanimously that Lot !?, Clearwater
Heights Subdivision to be deeded to the County of Pinellas as a gift.
Mayor Seavy said the police Department was to be oomplimented
for staying within their budbet in as much as a new car had to be
bought which had not been anticipated.
City Attorney Ralph Kichards reported that he had conununicated
with Governor Holland relative to an3? State set up for the handling
of Police Pension Benefits and that had been informed that there ?r?as
a Board of five members all appointed by the Governox to handle the
matter. Mr. xichards said that sometime in the near futdre he would
be able no doubt to?give the particulars of the state set up.
