THE MD"UTES OF THE MEETINGS OF THE CITY COMMISSION
The City Comrussion of the City of Clearwater~ Florida met in
~ ~'J I'(tlt
Speoial Session 8 P. 1r~ in the auditorium of the City Hall. The
rollowin6 members were present:
George n. Seavy, Mayor Commissioner
Jesse G. Smith, Comnissioner
'Herbert Grice, Uomm1 ssioner
Sumner R. Lowe, Commissioner
Absent: Vim. V/atsoD Clark
The meeting was dulr called to order by Mayor-Commissioner
George R. Seavy and the minutes of the previous meeting were ap-
proved as read.
Mrs. Majean B. Carr appeared before the Board relative to
occupational license charbe for apartment'houses. The Co~nission
explained to l~rs. Ce.rr that they would atteMpt to !JElke the license
charges as equitable as possible.
The Commission had bef'ore them a cormnunication from the
City Managers Association inviting them to attend the annual
oonference of Citj- 1'lanae;ers to be held at the Hollywood Beach Hotel
fn IIollywood, Florida on 'November 23 to 27th inclusive. The Com-
mission expressed themselves in favor of City Manager IIendrix attend-
ing the conference.
Mayor Seavy said that in compliance with a resolution recent-
ly passed by the Commission he would appoint a Housing Authority
probably this week.
City Manager F. L. Ilendrix had in hand from the'Chamber of
Commerce,and read to the Board, a Resollltion relative to air-mail
service for Clearwater. Below is set out such Resolution.

V-lHEREAS, the present regulations of the Post affice Depart-
ment require that air mail from: Clearwater and its vicinity be de-
posited in the Post Office by 2:45 o'clbck each afternoon, and
WHEREAS, such time is unreasonable and tends to prevent the
business firms, 'pro.fessional men and oi tizens of this vicini ty from
fully av~iling themselves bfi the use of said air mail service, and
WHEREAS, there is situate in this Vicinity a certain corpora-

from the Clearwater Field with the Eastern Airlines and
National Airlines, and

WHEREAS, such improvement or. air mail servioe w11l
greatly benefit this community , resulting in a greater us.e
or said servioe and increased revenue to the Post Ofrioe
