A letter was read to the Commission from I.~s. Cleiland Wi~11man asking
that the Cleapwater School of l~usio be not charged any Occupational License.l~.
C L Jaunes also appeared before the Board requesting that the School not be taxed.
The Board deferred action on the matter to some future time.
Miss Helen F Weber , on behalf of a client offered $1200.00 for the south
block of Del Oro Groves. beine lots Nos 503 to 511 both inclusive, and lots Nos
572 to 584 both'inclusive. It was moved by Mr Clark seoonded by Mr Lowe that the
offer be accepted, with the understanding nowever that any paving east of the
County highway in or around the property remain the property of the City,
sUbject to removal of the srnne by the City if so desired-- also that the sale
would include an abstract, and that Miss Weber would be paid 'a 5% commission.

on property south of Causeway Bou1evard. t~ Richards exp1ained that the pro-
posed lease would cover 200 ft on the waterfront and 100 ft on Causeway Boule-
< vard, and'that the lease would expixe Jan 1, 1950, and be $15.00 per month.
By general consent the'commission ap~roved the propOsed lease.
A Letter from the Shell Oil Company w~s read to the Board stating that they
would be interested in a ten year lease on a portion of , land lying on the South
side of Clearwater Beach Cause~ay, west of the sma11 bridge but east of the
Imperial Dock. The portion to have a 100 ft frontage on the road , and extend
South to the water. Rental to be one-half oent per gallon for all gasoline sold
with a monthly.minimum of $25.00. Shell 011 Company to erect $5000.00
Building, same to become the ~roperty of the City upon the fermination of the
lease. Gasoline storage , dis~ensing & other service station equipment to
remain the property of the Shell Oil Company. Ml" Lee Reid appeared before the~'
Board in regard to the proposed lease. Aotion was deferred on this matter
regular

City Manager F L Hendrix opened and read to the Board bids ana 1941
one half ,ton panel delivery truck. The following submitted bids: Larry Dimmitt
Inc., LaBoon & Daniels, Orange State Motor Company, Crown Motor Company,
Thayer Motor Company, Otis E Pruitt, Kennedy & Strickland. The following bid of
Thayer Motor Com~any at $569.80 was up6n motion of Mr Smith seconded by Mr.

A letter from the Civil Service Board was read to the Board , stating that A D Finoh
was sucoessful in passing civi~ service exwmination, and was now eligible to ap~oint-
ment to Grade A POlioeman, oontingent on the City Commission raising Mr. Finoh's
salary to the soale paid Grade A Men. Action on this matter deferred until next regular
meeting.
A petition oontalning 86 names was received' from the Clearwater Shuffleboard Club
asking that the members of the Shuffleboard Club be allowed to p~rk their cars on the
north side of Pieroe Street and West of Osoeola Avenue. On reoommendation of Mayor
Seavy the matter was referred to the Chief of Polioe and to the City l~anager.
Moved by }~ Grice , seoonded by Mr Lowe ~ and carried that transfers of $8000.00
and $5000.00 from the Gas & Water Fund to the General Fund be approved .
Moved by Mr Lowe, seoonded by Mr Grioe and carried that Mond.ay June 2, 1941 be
designated as the time fo~ having the delinquent Tax Sale.
City Attorny Ralph R~ohards read to the Board the legal notice that he intended
to have published in the newspaper relative to amending the charter of the City of

Clearwater. By general consent theoontents of the notioe was approved and }~. Riohards
was asked to proceed with the advertising.

the otfer of the Gulf Oil ~?rporation to furnish the City with low Sulphur Fuel O~l, Kt
for the period April 1, 1941 through Maroh 31, 1942.
The following parties appeared before the Board relative to co-ordinating or
~ossibly combining the City's health and sanitation work, with that of the program and
