MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE CITY COMMISSION
The City Commlssioners of the City of Clearwater, Florida
met in regular session in the auditorium of the City Hall at
7:30 P M on March 3,1941 with the following members present:

The meeting was duly called to order by Mayor Commissioner.

City Manager F. L. Hendrix presented and read to the Board
a letter of date March 3,1941 from M.F.Hall asking that the~City
purchase for him the 1941 license for the beach bus. Mr. Hendrix
informed the Commission thAt the license cost was $100.00 plus
collections ree of twenty five cents.' Moved by Mr Grice, sec-
onded by Mr. Lowe that the City purchase the 1941 beach bus
license. Motion carried.
Ci ty Attorney Ralph Richards read to'~,the Board a proposed
resolution whereby the City of Clearwater would release the
Fidelity and Casualty Company of New York of any liability in
regard to Bond of former City Manager A.C.Nichols. Moved by
Mr. Clark, seconded by Mr. Grice that the above mentioned
resolution be passed. Motion carriedo
Below and immediately following is set out in detail
the Nichols resolution:
RESOLUTION
WHEREAS A. C. ,Nichols was, formerly employed as
City Manager of the City of Clearw~ter and left the employ
of the City in 1939; and
WHEREAS during his period of service as City.
Manager said A. C. Nichols furnished a fidelity bond executed
by the Fidelity and Casualty Company of New York to guarantee
proper accou~ting for all funds that came into his hands as
City Manager; and
~~EREAS said A. C. Nichols and the Fidelity and
Casualty Company of New York have requested the City of Clear-
water to relieve them of all further bbligations on said bond;
and
VrrrnffiEAS all funds handled by said A. C. Nic~ols
as City Manager have been properly accounted for and there are
no shortages or irregularities of any kind;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA, That the City of Clearwater
shall and hereby doesreleaseA. C.Niohols '. trom all .:t'urther

and posted by him as City Manager of the City of Clearwater,
and also shall and does hereby release The Fidelity and
Casualty Company of New York from all further liability on
said bond.

Upon inquiry of Mayor Seavy, Polioe Chief Joe Russell
reported that thirty or forty drivers had been given tickets
for improper lights or lack of lights on thei~ automobiles and
that the d~ive against one-eyed a~tomobiles was still on. Also
in response to a question or the Mayor, Mr. Russell stated
that the olosing of the alley east of the Coacmnan Building
had helped in the handling or the traffic and that he had heard
of no objections to the Closing of the alley from the general
public.
In answer to inquiry of Commissioner Clark relative to
p~esent condition of Brooklyn Field, City Manaser F. L. Hendrix
reported that the ~1eld was in good condition and bei~ properly
maintained.
