Mr. Elwood presented a petition signed by a number ot Clearwater oitizens, acoompanied by a sketoh of proposed Park to be known as "Tro:p1cal Gardens". Mr. Elwood stated that this ~ark would be used as a recreation'center, and asked the City ~or their consideration in the ,purchase ot this tract of land and dedioating same tor' the use of this Park. , ,. Moved by Mr. Norton, seconded by Mr. Seavyand unanimously oarried that the Mayor appoint a committee to work with the Parks Committee and see what oan be worked out. Mr. Norton, ,the City Manager, City Engineer and City Attorney were ap~ointed on this Committee by the Mayor. Mr. Sanches, repres~nting Sun 011 Company, asked ~er.m1ss1on for a Permit to install a one thousand gallon' gas tank instea~ of a rive hundred and tifty gallon tank as provided by the C1ty Building Coda. ,. , I Moved by Mr. Dem:psey, seconded by Mr. Seavyand unanimously oarried that the permit be granted, subject to the approval o~ the Fire Ch1e~. Mr. Ed Dillard asked~he Commission tor a lease on a strip or land on west side of Imperial Dooks operated by Mr. L9we, for the purpose of erecting a boat shed and tackle room. Moved by Mr. Norton, seconded by Mr. Seavy and unanimously oarried that the City Attorney be instruoted to draw such a lease; expiration pf lease to coinoide with Lowe's lease, subjeot to ap~roval of the City Manager. Expiration of new lease to coinoide with the expiration or Lowe's lease. Moved by Mr. Dempsey, seconded by Mr. Norton and unanimously carried that the City Attorney be instruoted to draw suoh a lease and present to next meeting. Mr. Frank Yearwood presented an orfer or'$ 600.00 on Lot 10 Block 8 of North Shore Park; City to pay oommission or five peroent (~) to Mr. ~earwood and furnish abstract. Moved by Mr. Norton, seconded by Mr. Seavy and carried that the ofrer be acoepted subjeot to approval or Mr. Dempsey. (Mr. Dempsey's approval was reoei ved.. la ter ) . Moved by Mr. Norton, seoonded by Mr. Dempsey and unanimously oar~ied that the purohase or a car of gas pipe, amounting to approximately $ 2,300.00 from Stoutmm1re Hardware Company be approved. The Mayor presented proposal or D. G. Haley, ,attorney, represen~ing syndioate interested in New Country Olub Addition, north of S. A. L. Railway. Haley agreeing to release City of stipulation made in Court I Order Numoer . if Oity would be agreeable in aocep~ing west 40 aores and release all or their rights including City taxes on east 40 acres. Moved by Mr. Seavy, seconded by Mr. Norton and unanimously oarried that Mr. Haley's propos1tion be acoepted. There being no further business the meeting was adjourned. .
