Mr. Tilley appeared before the Commission and asked them to pass an Ordinance proteoting the merchants aga1nst outsiders coming and holding auotion sales ot merchandise. The City Attorney was instructed to draw suoh an Ordinanoe and present it at the next meeting. t~. J. D. Baskin submitted an after of $ 800.00 for a strip of land on the northwest corner of Cleveland Street and San Ramo Avenue, 400 feet tacing on Cleveland Street and running baok 125 feet; and restricting the adjoining property to $ 2,000.00 buildings. No aotion was taken. Mr. Frank Yearwood, representing G. W. Meacham, submitted an otter of $ 2,000.00 for Lots 1 & 2 Bloak B La JOlla, payable $ 350.00 cash and balance payable 6-12-18 & 24 months with interest at 6~ per annum payable semi-annually, subjeot to 5% commission to be paid Mr. Mearwood. Purohaser to pay 1941 and subsequent taxes. Moved by Mr. Norton, seoonded by Mr. Seavy and unanimously carried that the offer be accepted. Moved by Mr. Seavy, seoonded by Mr. Norton and unanimously carried that Mr. H. H. Baskin's ofrer of $ 150.00 in payment ot personal taxes mnount1ng to $ 326.40 against Spada Fruit Company be aocepted. Moved by Mr. Seavy, seoonded by Mr. Norton and unanimously carried that Mr. G. W. Nash be appointed tor a term ot three years on the Board of Electrioal Examiners to replace Mr. W. J. Lester whose ter.m has expired. It was established that this Board now has the following members and terms: Member: G. O. Parker Sumner Lowe G. W. Nash ~If~~~t'; ,~ Term. expires: September 1, 1941 September 1, 1942 September 1, 1943 I:, Moved by Mr. Dempsey, seoonded by Mr. Norton and unanimously oarried that Paul Fioht's offer ot $ 250.00 in settlement or all City taxes on South one-halt ot Lots 3 & 4 Blook 4 of Bayview Heights Subdivision be aooepted. Moved by Mr. Norton, seoonded by Mr. Seavy and unan imously oarried that all 01ty owned tax olaims on Lot 25 Blook A of Floridena be assigned to Arthur Radford tor the sum of $ 55.00. Moved by Mr. Dempsey, seoonded by Mr. Norton and unanimously oarried that a transfer of $ 5,000.00 from the Gas and Water Fund to the General Fund on September 25th be approved.
