MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE OITY COMMISSION The City Oommission ot the Oity of Olearwater mot in the City Hall at 7:30 o'clock on the evening ot March 4th, 1940 with the following members present: E. B. Casler, Jr., Mayor-Oommissioner R. A. Dempsey Herbert Grice W. W. Peeler G. R. Seavy ------ l, ',' Absen t: None , ...' Minutes ot previous meetings were read and approved, atter adding a notation with referenoe to Mr. Peeler asking the Oommission to postpone action on vacating alley in rear of Ooaohman Building until the next meeting. Mr. W. W. Gibson presented a petition ~th signatures of approximately thirty property owners, requesting the City Commission to pave Lake Street fram Cleveland Street to Gult-to-Bay-Boulevard. t~. Gibson stated that, if neoessary, the property owners are willing to have a portion ot the cost assessed against their property and give them t~e to pay s~e. The City Manager stated' that it would take approximately . . 2,500.00 tor the City's portion of the ooe~. The Oity Manager was instructed to determine the manner in whioh such tunds may be raised and report to the Commies ion at the next Meeting. Moved by Mr. Grioe, seoonded by Mr. Seavy and unanimously oarried that a transter ot $ 5,000.00 tram the Gas and Water Fund to the General Fund on February 28th be approved. Moved by Mr. Grioe, seconded by Mr. Peeler and unanimOUSly oarried that Resolution H 1, entitled: "RESOLUTION TO WORKS PROGRESS ADMINISTRATION REQUESTING THE CONSTRUOTION OF A MUNICIPAL STADIUM FOR THE CITY OF OLEARWATER, FLORIDA" be adopted. The Oity Attorney asked tor authority to foreclose on Lots 52 to 56 inclusive and 81 to 85 inolusive in Oarolina Terrace Annex whioh are used as a Reoreation Field. He also stated that Mr. Satterfield is wanting to aoquire title to several lots in a(subdivision known as Property or ., '.' '::',--:-: .. ;...." Moved by Mr. Grioe, seoonded by Mr. SeavY and unanimously oarried that the assignment of Oity, State and County tax oert1fi oates on the North one-half ot: Lot 28 ot Palm Park to G. A.
