in cash toward payine the costs of resurf'acing and re-

fence, of tho Cnrlouel Subdivision; and,
~~EAS, it is the opinion of the City Commission
that Uanc1alay Road is badly in need of repairs and the
best interests of the City will be served by. the Accept-

\v.HEREAS, the estimated oost of this resurfaoing and

rebuilding is estimated at approximately fifty-rive hundred
dollars ($ 5,500.00); and,
WHEREAS, the VI. II. ArInston Construction Company has
agreed to do this work and aocept as the balance of total
cost, gas tar at seven oents ($ .O?) per gallon, up to
fifty thousand (50,000) gallons.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION,
of the City of Clearwater, Florida, that the City Manager be,
and he is hereby authorized to aocept and receive from the
Owners of the Carlouel Subdivision, two thousand dollars
($ 2,000.00) in oash, this sum to be turned over to the
W. H. Armston Construotion Company, oontractors who are to
do the construction work for repairing and rebuilding the
Mandalay Road from Acacia Street to the north fence ot the
Carloue~ Subdivision, as the cash portion of this construot-
ion cost, after the work is completed.
The above Reso~\ltion passed and adopted by the City
Commission or the City of Clearwater, Florida, on this the
twenty-second day of January, A. D. 1940.

WHEREAS, the TIorks Progress Administration has approved
W. P. A. State Project # 52-30810, County Serial # 52-7-A-198,
providing for granine, paving, repaving, widening, draining,
beautifying and otherwise improving various streets through-
out the City of Clearwater, and
VrnrnREAS, it was stipulated in the project that no work
would be done on any project except on resolution by the City
Council approved by the Area and State W. P. A. offices, and
VITIEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council to being
work immediately on this project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that work be commended
on the folldlwiag streets:
