Board could work to a better advnntaee in a great many in-

Bond Number Six Hundred Fifteen (# 815) in the face amount
of One Thousand Dollars ($ 1,000.00) which was issued b7
the City of Clearwater, Florida on the first day of May,
1920 and matured November first, 1933ihas been redeemed
by- the City'oi' Clearwater, and
WHEREAS, it is deemed to be to the best interests
of the City of Clearwater that the said Bond # 615 and
Coupons numbered Nine (9) through Fifteen (15) both
numbers inclusive which are attaohed thereto, be oanoel1ed

The City Manager presented a petition from Beauty
Parlor Operators objeoting to oocupational lioense assessed
against them ~ fifteen dollars on the ftrst operator and
two dollars and fifty cents for eaoh additional operator
when the Barber/Shop license is only five dollars for the
first chair and two dollars and fifty cents for each
additional chair, and asked that an adjustment be made to
place them on a more equal basis with Barber Shops. This
was referred to the City Manager for his consideration.
John Williams addressed the Commission with referenoe
to the new Negro Cemetery and asked that it be incorporated
in the Resolution that this would be a non-profit organization
and read an agreement that would take care of the situation.

The City Manager presented the Thomas Lease. Moved
by Mr. Grice, seconded by Hr. Dempsey ani unanimously carried
that the proper authorities be authorized to sign the lease.
The City Manager presented the Annual Report and was
requested to file same.
A letter from the Carpenter's Union objecting to
beginning of construction before building permits are issued,

A letter from the Civil Service Board advising that
at the election held on January 9th, 1940 for the purpose ot
electing a representative of the Police Department to the
Civil Service Board"Guy M. Holloway received a majority of
the votes cast and will be given a seat on the Board as a
representative of the Police Department and that at the
eleotion held on January 9th, 1940 for the purpose of eleoting
a representative of the Fire Department to the Civil Servioe
Board, R. C. Dobson received a majority ot the votes cast and
will be given a seat on the Board as a representative of the
Fire Department was read.
Moved by Mr. Grice, seoonded by Mr. Dempsey and
unanimously carried that the transfer of $ 3,500.00 from
the Gas and Water Fund to the General Fund be approved.
Moved by Mr. Peeler, seconded by Mr. Seavy and
unanimoUSly carried that the sale of Lot 12 Block 11 of
Country Club Addition to Frank Hanoook for $ 50.00 be

being filed by G. William Herbst and Harry D. Yerxa, who
were then owners of the property oovered by said plat; and
WHEREAS on Deoember 5th, 1924, a revised plat ot
"Oountry Club Addition, the Subdivision Beautiful ot Clear-
water, Florida", was filed with the Clerk of the Ciroui t
Court of Pinellas County, Florida, and reoorded in Plat
Book 7, page 35, of the Publio Reoords of Pinellas County,
Florida, said plat being filed by the Haley Realty Company

and beautification of the Parkways as far as the financial
situation of the City would permit; and

the City of Clearwater, Florida, in adopting this Resolution
to confirm and ratify the fact that the City has heretofore
aocepted the dedication of said Streets and Parkways, and to
make a formal record of the fact that the dedioation of said

Shore Park SUbdivision or the City of Clearwater, as Bmne
appears of reoord in the pUblic reoords of PinollaB County,
Florida, In Plat Book Throe (3), on Page Ten (10), that a
narrow strip of land or undetermined width along the southern
line of said subdivision was dedioated 8S a right of way, and
\~!EREAS, the portion of said strip of land lying and
running westwardly fran Sunset Drive towards Clearwater Bay
between Lot Six (5) of Blook Six (6), of North Shore Park
