Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
The committee to investigate charges against Mr. Casler
read a report confirmine Mr. Casler's qualifioations and rig~tt
to serve as l:iayor-Comrnissioner. Moved by Mr. Peeler, seconded
by Mr. Baker and unanimously carried that the report be aooepted
and approved.
Moved by 'Mr. Baker, seconded by Ur. Dempsey and
unanimously carried that Ordinance # 459: AN ORDINANCE
CONSTRUING THE TERM RETAIL FLORIST; PROVIDInG FOR THE
LICENSING AND REGULATIOn OF RETAIL SELLING OF FLOWERS,
FUNERAL SPRAYS, WREATHS, DESIGNS, CORSAGES, POTTED PLANTS,
AND CUTTING AND BEDDING PLANTS; PROVIDING THE M1\1\fNER OF
DISPLAY OF SUCH PRODUCTS; PRESCRIBnrG LICENSE FEE AND
PROHIBITING TRANSFER OF LICENSE; REPEALING ALL LAVIS IN
COITh"LICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR VIOLATION

THE C01~lISSION be passed on its ~irst reading, whioh was
done after the Ordinance had been read aloud in full.
The City Attorney called attention to the confusion
conoerning the sale of Lot 3 Block 1 of Magnolia Park. Mr.
J. E. Satterfield, representing rjr. Ben Sutton, stated that
his client would like to make a bid on the lot and inquired
as to whether bids would be open or sealed. Moved by Mr.
Dempsey, seconded by l,lr. Baker and unanimously carried that
all previous action of the City~6ommission in conneotion with
the sale of this lot be resoinded and that sealed bids be
