Minutes of the ,ravious meetings were read and approved.
!.1r. Robert \'ii tter addressed the Commission aSking
permission to erect a sien at the top of the hill on Cleveland
Street, directing trafric to the Beach. The cost of the sign
will be assumed b~r the Clearwater Beach Association. I..!oved by
Mr. Bn.Jcer, seconded by liTr. Dempsey and unanimously carried that
permission to erect the sign be granted. !,~. Witter asked the
Commission i~ there was any possible chance of getting the
streets fixed r\.l~ning East f'rom 1.:andalay Boulevard as some
of them a:re in a dangerous condition, and was assured by the
City llanager that these streets wil~ be taken care of' in the
near .cuture. r.!r. Witter also asked what would be done about
"
police protection at the Beach and proposed that one policeman
be assigned to this territory. The City Manager advised him
that a schedule is being worked out for patrol of the Beach
every half hour.
Mr. H. R. 1.IcEneany complflined about too much noise, and
asked if' the po~icemen could not stop the newsboys across the
street and the boys at Lane's Dairy from making so much noise.
~~. Baker assured Mr. McEneany that he would speak to Mr. Lane
about the milk boys and request them to be more quiet. t~.
McEneany stated that he had asked his tennants in the liquor
store to vacate on account of the noise they were making
between/the hours of 11: 00 P.M. and 2: 30 A. M.
h~., ~:. H. Jones addressed the Commission with reference
to the City deeding the High School Band two lots for the
purpose of raising money f'or the Band. Hoved by gr. Peeler,
seconded byNr. Baker and unanimously carried that the City
Manager be authorized to execute a deed on lots in Navajo Park
and Avondale for the sum of $ 250.00.

The City Manager read a letter from the Chamber of
Commerce with reference to passing City Ordinance oompell-
ing rat extermination in Clearwater.
The Ci ty ~.1anager stated that the Belleair Commissioners
would like to renew their oontraot with Clearwater with

referenoe to Police Patrol on a twelve months basis. This
was referred to the City l.Ianager to work out a schedule of'
patrol and re~ort back at tho next Commission meeting.
Moved by 1.1r. Dempsey, seconded by Mr. Grioe and
unanimouslY carried that deed to part of Lot 23 of Padgett's
Estates Subdivision be executed to C. D. Moreland as drawn.

Moved, by Hr. Grice, seconded by I.~r. Baker and unanimously
oarried that the ofrer of $ 500.00 makde by J. S. Cribbs,
payable $ 100.00 cash, balance payable on terms to be agreed
upon by the City r~anAger'and City Auditor and Clerk for Lot
2 Block 2 of J. A. Gorra's Subdivision be accepted.
The City Attorney stated that Mr. Brumby was requesting
the City Commissioners to assign his lease on the Marine Ways
to Vi. H. Armston. !:!oved by Mr. Peeler, seconded by Mr. Grice
and unanimously carried thet the City Manager be instructed
to check the work beine done and when completed as per contract
the lease be assigned to Mr~ Almston.

The Building Inspector recommended that the City foreclose
upon or buy Lot 3 Block 2 of Lincoln Place Subdivision in order
that an unsanitary condition may be remedied.
Moved by Mr. Peeler, seconded by Mr. Dempsey and
unanimously oarried that the following Resolution be adopted:

WHEREAS, automobile traffic on CleveV:mc1 street and
Clearwater Beach Causeway has inoreased to the point of
serious congestion, and,
princi~ally to there beinc only one entranoe to Clearwater
Beaoh Causeway, and,
VrrrnREAS, the City of Clearwater has aoquired a
right-of-way across the Kingston Property ror the oonstruct-
ion of a street or boulevard connecting Pierce Street with
Cleveland Street at the Causeway entrance and is now preparing
to open said street or boulevard for pUblic use;
NOW, TIiEHEFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Commission of
the City of Clearwater in regular meetine assembled, that the

aforesaid street or boulevard connecting Pieroe street with
Cleveland Street as shown on the map or plat attached hereto
is hereby dedioated to the public use as a street or boulevard
