MINUTES OF THE CITY COMMISSION
March 21, 1938
The ,City Commission or the City of Clearwater, Florida, met
on the above date, in regular meeting assembled, with the following

A spokesman from the meat dealers of the City addressed the
Commission. No action was taken on the meat inspection ordinance,
it being held for rurther study.
Moved by Mr. Batchelor, seconded by Mr. Barry, and carried,
that WPA be requested to proceed with both additions to the library.
Moved by Mr. Batchelor, seconded by Mr. Barry, and carried,
that the water rate be amended to provide that quantities above

Mr. Batchelor introduaed the following resolution:
RESOLUTION RATIFYING, AUTHORIZING AND APPROVING AGREE1mNT
DATED FEBRUARY em, 1938, BET1VEEN RECEIVERS OF SEABOARD
AIRLINE RAllWAY COMPANY AND CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
RELATING TO PIPE LINES UNDER SEABOARD AIR LINE RAILWAY
TRACKS.

WHEREAS, the City of Clearwater has hereto~ore entered into an
agreement, bearing date or February 8th, 1938, between L. R.
Powell, Jr., and Henry W. Anderson, as Receivers of Seaboard Air
Line Railway Company; and-
WHEREAS, said agreement relates to the ma!ntenance and repairs
of certain pipe lines under the railway traaks of the Seaboard
Air Line Railway Company, and
WHEREAS iajand by said agreement the rights of the respective
parties in reference to said pipe lines and the maintenance thereof
have been fUlly set rorth, and
WHEREAS said contract was on the 8th day of February, 1938, duly
executed on behalf of L. R. Powell, Jr., and Henry W. Anderson,
as Receivers of Seaboard Air Line Railway Company, by its Chief
Eng$neer, on behalf of the City of Clearwater by A. C. Nichols,
City Manager, and attested by J. E. Satterfield, City Clerk,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF

CLEARWATER FLORIDA, that the execution of said contract on behalf
or the City of Clearwater by its City !anager and City Clerk bearing
date of February 8th, 1926, by and between L. R. Powell, Jr., and
Henry W. Anderson, as Receivers of the Seaboard Air Line Railway
Company, and the City of Clearwater, Florida, relating to maintenance
of certain pipe lines under the railroad tracks owned by said
Seaboard Air Line Railway Company, be, and the same is hereby
authorized, ratified, approved, and confirmed.
