The City Conun:lsslon of' the City of' Clearwa.ter, Florida, met
on the 22nd day of' November, 1937, jn regula.r meeting assembled,
with the following members prosent:

L. A. Marsh
R. L. Baker
J. A. Barry
Mr. Smith of the Boyce Construotion Company was present and
objected to the laying of segment block sewer in the Jones street Sewer
Project. The City ~demonBtrated the use of this type of sewer
and assured the Commission that if properly laid there should be no
difficulty with it whatever. No definite action was taken.
It was moved by Mr. Barry, seconded by I'Ar. Marsh and carried
that the application of Paul R~dolph for rental of space for a real
estate of~ice on Clearwater Beach be authorized, and that the City
Manager be authorized to arrange the details of' the agreement~ it being
understood th.at the rantal snaIl be from month to month.

It was moved by Mr. Marsh, seconded by Mr. Barry and carried
that the City Comnllssion join w~th the Chamber of Commerce to invite
President Roosevelt to come to Clearwater on his proposed visit to the
Florida West Coast.
It was moved by Mr. Marsl1, seconded by Mr. Barry and carried
that the City Commission invite Governor Fred P. Cone to come to Clear-
water for the Christmas football game as the guest or the City.
It was moved by Mr. Marsh, seconded by Mr. Barry and carried
that the City Manager be authorized to write the War Depart:rnent stating
that the City of Clearwater has no objection to the installation of
groins by the Clearwater Beach ])evelopment Company in :front of their
property on the south end of' Clearwater Island.
It was moved by Mr. Marsh, seconded by Mr. Barry and carried

that ~;.,1500 be appropriated f'or an addition to the City Jail.
It was moved by Mr. Balcer, seconded by Ii1r. Barry and carried.
that ambulances be required to stay within the 35 mile speed limit
and to stop at red lights.
