The City Commission of the City of Clearwater, Florida,
met on the above date, in regular meeting assembled, with the
following menlbers present:

It was moved by Mr. Batchelor, seconded by Mr. Baker and carried
that the proper city officials be authorized to enter into a contract
of sale to Mr. Nall for the property foreclosed by the City which was
forme r1y owned by ?vIr. Nal1, at a pric e of' ~~420. 00 , $100.00 down and
the balance at $20.00 per month.
It was moved by 1~. Batohelor, seconded by Mr. Barry and car- .
ried that the tax adjustments recommended by the Adjustment Committee
be approved.
It was moved by Mr. Batchelor, seconded by Mr. Baker and
carried that the replat of South Shore Subdivision on Clearviater
Island be approved.
It was moved by Mr. Batchelor, seconded by Mr. Barry and carried.
that the proper city officials be authorized to enter into a lease with
the Florida West Coast Broadcasting Compwny covering the property at
Bayview Park used for broadcasting purposes. The term of the lease
shall be ninety-nine (99) years, m1d shall be l1mdted to radio pur-
poses only.
It was moved by Mr. Batchelor, seconded by Mr. Barry and
carried that Radio Station ~~LA be included on the tax ro11 in 1938.
Mr. Batchelor introduced Ordinance 423-A for its f:trst
reading in full, and moved its adoption. Seconded by Mr. Barry,
and upon roll call the following vote was polled:

SECTION II. That Ordinance No. 421 be and the same is hereby

Mr. Dempsey addressed the Commission further relative to closing
grocery stores on Sunday. Mr. DenIPsey was advi sed that State Law covers
this matter, and was ref'erred to County enf'orcement orficia1s. Whereupon
Mr. Dempsey withdrew his request.
The following resolution was introduced by Mr. Batchelor:
RESOLUTION RELATIVE TO T.HE PROPOSED W.P.A. PROJECT
#52-1244 ENTITLED BUILD AN ADDITION TO THE CLEAR-
WATER CITY LIBRARY, ADDITION TO BE ONE STORY 33 FT.
WIDE X '71 FT. LONG X 1'7 FT.
WHEREAS, It is in the interest of the publiC welfare that we build
an addition to the Clearwater City Library. Addition to be one story 33
ft. wide x 71 rt. long x 17 ft. high,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Commission of the City
of ClealyWater, Florida:
Section 1. That the City Commissioners or the City of Clearvlater,
Florida apply to the Works Progress Administration for the opening of
W. P. A. Project #52-1244, consisting of building an addition to the
Clearvlster City Library, addition to be one story 33 ft. wide x '71 ft.
long by 17 ft. high.
Section 2. That the City Commissioners of the City of' Clearvlater,
Florida will furnish for the operation of this project all necessar,y
skilled labor that is not available from the local relief ro~lB.
Section 3. That the City Commissioners of the City of Clearwater,
Florida will purchase all necessary materials in excess of $875.00, said
amount being based on a minim~un material allotment for W. P. W. of $4.00
per man month.
Section 4. That the City Commissioners of the City of Clearwater,
Florida will assume the full responsibility of completing the project, if
W. P. A. funds are not available for that purpose.

AGAJNST THE PROPERTY BENEFITTED THEREBY.
WHEREAS, The City Commiss~on of the City of Clearwater, Florida
deems it necessary, advisable and to the best interests of the City of
Clearwater to install storm sewers in the following sections or the City
o~ Clearwater, Florida~ to-wit:

Georgia Street and Clearwater Ba~, thence east to
center line of Fort Harrison Avenue~ thence generally
north to the center line of Eldridge Street, thence

WHEREAS, it is a requirement of the W. P. A. that the sponsor
agree to furnish all skilled labor needed and not available on the

agree to assume the responsibility of completing the project, if W. P. A.
