E. Green, Mayor-Commissioner Mr. L. A. Marsh Mr. D. O. Batohelor Mr. R. L. Baker Mr. J. A. Barry It was moved by Mr. Baker, seconded by Mr. Batohe1or and oarried that the street on the east side of the At1rontio Coast Line Railroad tracks between Maple and Hart Streets by tho City's gas plant property be closed to traffic. It was moved by Mr. Batchelor, seconded by Mr. Barry and carried that the City Attorney be authorized to payor settle the State tax against the City Gas Department. Mr. Batohelor introduced the following resolution:: RESOLUTION OF THE CITY CO:MMISS ION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA, ORDERING SIDEWALKS CONSTRUCTED ON CERTAIN PORTIONS OF STREETS AND AVENUES IN THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA. WHEREAS, The City Commisaion of the City of Clea~ater, Florida, on the 6th day of July, 1937, passed and adopted a resolution declaring its intention to have sidewalks constructed an the following portions ot ths follOWing streets and avenues in the City of Clearwater, to-wit: West side of Greenwood Avenue from Laura Street to Turner St1'eet; South side of Pierce Street from Osceola Avenue eastward to the present sidewalk. AND vv.HEREAS, said resolution was published in the Clearwater Sun once a week for two (2) consecutive weeks, and the first publication was ten (10) days prior to July 19, giving notice to the owners of proper~ abutting said portions o~ said streets and avenues to show cause on the said 19th day of July, why said sidewalks should notlbe constructed, and WHEREAS, the City Commission met on the 19th day of July and called for objections to the construction of said sidewalks, and WHEREAS, no objections were filed, NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that ~e owners of properties abutting said portions of said streets and avenues be and they are hereb~ required to construct said sidewalks within thirty (30) days :from the data of the passage of this resolution, and if said owners shall not oonstrac~ said sidewalks within said thirty (30) days, the City shall thereupon pro- ceed to construct the s aid sidewalks and assess the cost thereof against the property abutting said sidewalks, as provided in the Ch8i:tter of the C~ty of Clearwater. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this, resolution be published in the Clearwater Sun onoe a week for two (2) consecutive weeks, as a not~oe to said property ownerso PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Commission of the City of Clearwater, Florida, this 26th day of July, A.
