The City Manager stated there will be two hurrioane preparedness
information programs held on Wednesday, May 29th at 7 p.m. at City Hall
Annex and on Thursday, June 27th at 1 p.m. at the Memorial Civio Center.
Members from local TV stations, the Weather Bureau. etc. will present
a panel discussion.

The applioant plans to install a pool. The request has been reviewed

ITEM 170 - ~~'I!I:!J.'Issuanoe of Industrial Development
Revenue Bonds - 11 0 Cleveland Street Pro ect not to exceed $1,900,000
Oftice Property, Ino. .
A pUblic hearing tor pUblio comment on proposed Industrial Development
Bond issues is required by the Internal Revenue Code. Oftioe Property,
Ino. proposes to acquire and renovate the former Barnett Bank building into
new oftioe and retail space.
Staff comments on tbe applioation are as tollows: 1) the application
is accurate; 2) applioant's and guarantor's financial oonditions are sound
and the project's tinal finanoial feasibility is to be dete~ined prior to
bond sale; 3) the projeot complies with applicable law and regulation; 4)
benefioial impact ot the project on Clearwater includes tax base increment
and oonstruotion payrolls and promotion ot economic growth of the City--
partioularly dOwntOWT1; and 5) environmental impact issues are minimal.
Commissioner Regulski questioned why the same purpose oould not be
acoomplished by private renovation rather than the issuance ot the
Industrial Development Bonds. Joseph MoFate ot Planning and Urban
Development stated the developer has asked for no City assistanoe exoept
the approval of the Development Bonds and the City is not liable in any way
tor repayment ot the bonds. The property is looated in an enterprise zone
which is considered high priority tor development.
Commissioner Garvey moved to pass and adopt Resolution 185-23 and
to authorize the appropriate otficials to exocute same. Motion was duly
~eoonded. Upon roll call the vote was:
