Terry Jennings of the Public Works Department indicated that there are
plans to widen S. R. 580 and, if the property is annexed, the City would
have to bear any condemnation costs for acquisitiion of the right-or-way
for the State. He requested the annexation not go through, but that an
agreement be initiated between the property owner and the City for the
sanitary sewer service in the interest of the public safety, health and
welfare. Concerns regarding the setting of a precedent were expressed.
Commissioner Calderbank moved to continue this item until the November

ITEM#64- BritiSh-Amerioan Marathon.
An alternative to the 1983 site is being oonsidered for this year's
race due to the 'oost of servioes which are required to be provided. Heetings
have been held with representatives of the race and the City of Clearwater
to discuss proposals and requests for waiving of fees. The City Manager
does not recommend the waiving of the license fees or other permitting costs
and fees.
Commissioner Calderbank moved to approve the proposal from Mr. Ernie
Barrett, President of the British-American Marathon to stage this year's
British-American Marathon and Fmnily Fitness 5K races in the City of
Clearwater and to waive the costs of Police and Traffic Engineering services
and barricades and to authorize the appropriate officials to execute same.

This is a fifteen-year lease of City-owned property to Mr. Goodwin for
