I 'c' ~, .' jl " CITY COMMISSION MEETING October 29, 1979 The City Commission of the City of Clearwater met in special session at the City Hall, Monday, October 29, 1979, at 9:30 a.m., with the following members present: Charles F. LeCher William Nunamaker Kar1een F. DeB1aker Marvin Moore Absent: Richard E. Tenney Also pre5ent were: Anthony L. Shoemaker Thomas A. Bustin Lucille Williams Mayor/Commissioner Vice-Mayor/Commissioner Commissioner Commissioner Commissioner City Manager City Attorney City Clerk The Mayor called the meeting to order. , The City Manager read into the record letter of October 23, 1979, addressed to the City Commission calling the special meeting for the purpose of setting a date to hold a public hearing to consider the charges by Mayor LeCher against John F. Hurley, Chairman of the Clearwater Housing Authority. The agenda for this special meeting is to consider setting a date for an administrative hearing and to consider employing counsel to advise the Commission during the hearing on points of law. ' ~. The City Manager recommended the firm of Shackleford, Farrior, Stallings, & Evans, attorneys in Tampa, be considered. He suggested one of three members of the firm: Harrison Thompson, William Sizemore, or Jake Dyal be selected. The City Commission approved the City Manager's recommendation and requested he proceed with the hiring of an attorney. Discussion ensued on a date for the administrative hearing. Commissioner Nunamaker moved on November 13, 1979 at 9:30 a.m. preferred by Mayor Charles LeCher relating to removal of Mr. Hurley the Clearwater Housing Authority. seconded the motion which carried to hold a public hearing to consider the charges against John F. Hurley, as chairman and member of Commissioner DeBlaker unanimously. A tentative date was set for a work session on November 8, 1979, at 9:30 a.m. for the Commssion to meet with the attorney.to discuss the administrative hearing and the rules of procedure.
