CITY COMMISSION MEETING
April 8, 1978 t.;
The City Commission of the City of Clearwater met in
special session at the City ball, Saturday, April 8f 1978, at
4:30 p.m., with the following members present:
Karleen F. DeBlaker
Karen Martin
William Nunamaker
Richard E. Tenney
Also present were:
Anthony Shoemaker
Thomas A. Bustin
Capt. David Panossian
Vice-Mayor/Commissioner

Representing Police Chief
The Vice-Mayor called the meeting to order and gave'the
invocation. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by the Vice-
Mayor.
Notice of Special Meeting dated April 7, 1978, was read
into the record and a Waiver of Notice of Special Meeting was
presented to the Clerk for the record. The purpose of this
meeting is to consider appointing a successor to the position
of Mayor. The Vice-Mayor reviewed the rules of procedure and
the duties of the Mayor.
Commissioner Tenney moved to nominate Vice-Mayor DeBlaker
as Mayor/Commissioner. Motion died for lack of a second.
Commissioner Tenney moved to nominate Frank Donnell for
Mayor/Commissioner. Motion died for lack of a second.
Commissioner Tenney moved to nominate Frank Morrow for
Mayor/Commissioner. Mr. Morrow declined the nomination and
Commissioner Tenney withdrew his nomination.
Commissioner Martin moved to nominate Gus Stavros for
the position of Mayor/Commissioner. Commissioner Nunamaker
seconded the motion. Upon roll call the vote was:
"Ayes": Martin and Nunamaker.
"Nays": Tenney and DeBlaker.
Motion failed.
Commissioner Nunamaker moved to adjourn the meeting.
Motion died for lack of a second.
Commissioner Martin nominated Al Hoffman for the position
of Mayor/Commissioner. Commissioner Tenney seconded the motion.
Upon roll call the vote was:
"Ayes": Martin and Tenney.
"Nays"t Nunamaker and DeBlaker.
Motion failed.
Commissioner Nunamaker moved to recess the special meet-
ing to Wednesday, April 12, 1978, at 7 p.m. Motion died for
lack of a second.

Commissioner Nunamaker moved to recess the-bpecial,meet-
ing to Wednesday, April 12, 1978, at 700 p.m. Commissioner
Martin seconded the motion. Upon the vote being taken, Com-
.,missioners Martin and Nunamaker and Vice-Mayor Deelaker voted
"Aye"s Commissioner Tenney voted "Nay." Motion carried,
The meeting recessed at 5:05 p.m. ;f
