RESOLUTION NO. 91N30
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
CLEARWATER, FLORIDA, DECLARING THE INTENT OF THE CITY
COMMISSION RELATING TO TOLLS AT THE NEW CLEARWATER PASS
BRIDGE, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A
LETTER OF UNDERSTANDING WITH THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF
TRANSPORTATIONj PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Commission on July 18, 1991, authorized the city manager
to proceed with the Clearwater Pass Bridge project on a joint project basis with
the State of Florida Department of Transportation (DOT), with the understanding
that there will be no tolls at the new bridge; and
WHEREAS, the DOT has requested that the intent of the City Commission be
formalized by the adoption of a resolution and by the execution of a letter of
agreement in the form attached hereto~ now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
CLEARWATER, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The City Commission hereby states its intent that, if the
Clearwater Pass Bridge is replaced as a joint project with the Florida Department
of Transportation, the City will eliminate tolls at the bridge.
Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute three (3)
originals of a letter of agreement, the form of which is attached hereto as
Exhibit A and incorporated by reference.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 15th day of August, 1991.

LETTER OF UNDERSTANDING
THIS lETTER OF UNDERSTANDING is entered into by and between the City of
Clearwater, Florida (the lIC;ty"), and the Florida Department of Transportation
(the "Department") relating to the new Clearwater Pass Bridge, Project No. WPI
7126698:
1. The parties hereto agree that, upon completion of the Clearwater Pass
Bridge Project, Project No. WPI 7126698, the City will not continue or extend its
tolls, but in fact will eliminate them.
2. This Letter of Understanding will be referenced to and made a part
of the maintenance and operational agreement between the parties hereto to be
executed upon final construction acceptance by the Department.
, 3. This agreement shall take effect when executed by both parties, on
the date as indicated below. Each party represents that the official executing
this agreement is authorized to do so on behalf of the agency of which the
official is an officer or employee.
