A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF TVE
CITY OF CLEARWATER OPPOSING THE PINELLAS
COUNTY MASTER DRAINAGE PLAN.

`h WHEREAS, a master drainage plan. County-wide in scope, has
been prepared and submitted to the City of Clearwater for approval; and
WHEREAS, following consideration of the plan, the City of Clearwater

on March 16, 1977, forwarded a letter to the Pinellas County Planning
t;r Council indicating those areas of the plan where'it found a concern and also
i indicating the changes that needed to be made; and
WHEREAS, reconsideration of the plan does not indicate that any of
the suggested revisions have been made; and
?M WHEREAS, the City Commission wishes to communicate its continued
opposition to the Pinellas County Master Drainage Plan in its present form;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
IN SESSION DULY AND REGULARLY ASSEMBLED, AS FOLLOWS:
1. That the City Commission of the City of Clearwater hereby
expresses its continued opposition to the Pinellas County Master Drainage
Plan as submitted.
2. That the City Commission hereby requests that the Pinellas County
Planning Council give consideration to the problem areas contained in
the plan as expressed in a letter dated March 18, 1977, from the City of
Clearwater to the Council, a copy of which is attached as Exhibit A and
incorporated herein; and to instruct its staff to coordinate with the municipalities
and Pinellas County, to resolve the differences.
3. That a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Pinellas County
Planning Council and to each member of the Pinellas County Planning Council.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 6th day of October, A. D. 1977.

The City Commission of the City of Clearwater regrets that it
is unable to adopt a resolution approving the Pinellas County Master
Drainage Plan as submitted.
The City Commission desires to adopt such a plan; however, the
following major areas of concern must be addressed before such approval
can be given. Those areas of concern which should receive further attention
are as follows:
