A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA, TO URGE MEMBERS OF
CONGRESS WHO REPRESENT THE STATE OF FLORIDA TO
SUPPORT EXTENSION AND EARLY ADOPTION OF THE
FEDERAL STATE AND LOCAL FISCAL ASSISTANCE ACT OF 1972.
WHEREAS, the City of Clearwater has received or anticipates receiving
the following entitlements from the Federal State and Local Fiscal Assistance
Act:
January 1972 - June 1973 $1,048,656
July 1973 - June 1974 741,065
July 1974 - June 1975 799,119
July 1975 - rune 1976 827, 283
TOTAL $3,416,123; and
WHEREAS, the City of Clearwater has budgeted from the Federal '
State and Local Fiscal Assistance Act funding for the following projects:

WHEREAS, the estimated value of 1 mill for Fiscal Year 1975/76
is $80B, 000; and
WHEREAS, the discontinuance of the Federal State and Local Fiscal
Assistance Act would require the addition of one mill increase in taxes to
Clearwater residents to continue present level budgeting; and
WHEREAS, the discontinuance of the Federal State and Local Fiscal
Assistance Act would impose an undue burden on Clearwater citizens to-
generate new revenues; and

WHEREAS, the City Commission considers that extension of the
Federal State and Local Fiscal Assistance Act is in the best interest of the
City of Clearwater and that early adoption would aid the City in its budgetary
efforts for the Fiscal Year 1976/77; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission desires to officially urge members
of Congress representing the State of Florida to support the extension and
early adoption of the Federal State and Local Fiscal Assistance Act;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
IN SESSION REGULARLY AND DULY ASSEMBLED, AS
FOLLOWS:
1. That the City Commission of the City of Clearwater, Florida,
hereby officially urges the members of Congress who represent the State of
Florida to support : extension of the Federal State and Local Fiscal Assistance
Act of 1972.
2. That it is further urged that the aforesaid members of Congress
strive for early adoption of the extension of the Federal State and Local
Fiscal Assistance Act of 1972 in order to aid the City of Clearwater, Florida,
and other municipalities in their budgetary efforts fox Fiscal Year 1976/77.
3. That a certified copy of this Resolution be forwarded forthwith
to the aforesaid members of Congress who represent the State of Florida.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 18th day of December, A. D. 1975.
