WHEREAS, the City of Clearwater and Pinellas County as n whole

are desirous of meeting the highest water quality standards in the United
States; and
WHEREAS, the City of Clearwater desires to meet the goals of the
Tampa Bay Regional Planning Council's proposed Regional Wastewater
Quality Management Plan; and
WHEREAS, in order to provide the highest water quality standards
and regional wastewater treatment facilities Federal assistance will be
required in the immediate future; and
WHEREAS, the City of Clearwater and Pinellas County have a total
of four regional wastewater facilities that are scheduled to receive funding
from the Environmental Protection Agency's 1976 allocation now being
considered by Congress under Public Law 92-500;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
IN SESSION REGULARLY AND DULY ASSEMBLED, AS
FOLLOWS:
1. That the City of Clearwater hereby officially requests the
Congressional members from the State of Florida to actively support and
make every effort to insure that wastewater treatment funds at least equal
to the Fiscal Year 1975 funding level be continued and allocated by Congress
under Public Law 92-500 as quickly as possible.
2. That certified copies of this Resolution be transmitted forthwith
to Senator Edward J. Gurney, Senator Lawton Chiles and Representative
C. W. "Bill" Young.
