RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, the City of Clearwater has applied for a Federal grant
relating to acquisition for open space, which parcels are to be known as
Turner Park and McMullen Park; and
Iir WHEREAS, such grant requires the City's affirmation that all the
Federal guidelines for open space acquisition were followed and that the price
agreed upon by the City and the parties involved was agreed to without any

? rr :: coercion and was mutually satisfactory to all parties involved; and
WHEREAS, the prior owners of the property were advised of the appraised

amounts of the land prior to the settlement of the purchase price; and

I?F9 ,}1 s . WHEREAS, the City Commission is desirous of complying with all
Federal requirements and guidelines in the open space acquisition;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
IN SESSION REGULARLY AND DULY ASSEMBLED, AS
FOLLOWS:
1. That the City Commission hereby affirms that all Federal guidelines
and requirements in the open space acquisition relating to Turner Park and
McMullen Park, Application No. FLA-1020..OS, have been followed.
2. That the prior owners of the property were advised of the appraised
amounts of the land prior to the settlement of the purchase price; the price agreed
upon by the City and the parties involved in the amount of $175, 000 as to Turner
Park and $144,691 as to McMullen Park was agreed to without any coercion and
was mutually satisfactory to all parties involved and determined to be just
compensation and fair market value by the City Commission.
3. Further, that there were no requirements for relocation as the
property was vacant and unoccupied at the time.
. 4. That a certified copy of this Resolution be forwarded forthwith to
the Department of Housing and Urban Development to be made a part of the
application for the open space grant.
