w RESOLUTION
REQUESTING HELP FROM OUR SENATORS AND
CONGRESSMEN TO SECURE MORE GASOLINE
PRODUCTS IN THIS AREA FOR THE USE OF OUR
CITIZENS AND WINTER VISITORS
f§i'
Itk t
Sri; WHEREAS, for several weeks now it has been increasingly more
;t difficult to secure gasoline and diesel fuels for the operation of motor vehicles
s, in and about the City of Clearwater and Pinellas County; and
WHEREAS, we have not been receiving our full allocation of these
fuels in light of the dramatic increase in growth in the City of Clearwater
Kai;
f's and Pinellas County; and
WHEREAS, we are having a very busy winter season and many
tourists are traveling in and about Clearwater and Pinellas County; and
WHEREAS, it is very difficult for the citizens of Clearwater to secure
gasoline for the necessary operation of their vehicles because of long lines
at gasoline stations and because most of the gasoline stations are either
closed or open only a few hours of the day;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
IN SESSION DULY AND REGULARLY ASSEMBLED, AS
FOLLOWS:
1. That the City Commission of the City of Clearwater, Florida,
hereby requests that you as our Senators and/or Congressmen make every
effort to see that the City of Clearwater and Pinellas County gets its full
allocation of gasoline including an increased allocation because of growth
and for the winter visitors that we have here.
2. That there is a scarcity of gasoline products in the area due to our'
oil spill law here in the State of Florida and that we should not be discriminated
against because of our ecology laws which are different from our neighboring
States which oddly enough do not have such a critical shortage of gasoline
products as the State of Florida and/or Pinellas County is undergoing.
