RESOLUTION
No. 73 • 62
WHEREAS, the City Commission is aware of the nuzy tine young
people living in Clearwater and attending our many schools; and
WHEREAS. James Barbee, a student at the Clearwater Campus
of the St. Petersburg Junior College, rescued Dirs. Tilly Deslandes
who was near drowning in the wind-whipped waves at Clearwater Beach
and saved her life= and
WHEREAS, the City Commission desires to officially recognise
such as action of bravery on the part of said James Barbee;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
IN SESSION DULY AND REGULARLY ASSEMBLED, AS
FOLLOWSr
1. That the City of Clearwater does hereby officially recognise
and express its gratitude to James Barbee for his act of bravery in
rescuing Mrs. Tilly Deelandes from drowning and commands him for
his unselfish act.
2. That a duplicate original of this Resolution be presented to
the said James Barbee.
