6992-02 ORDINANCE NO. 6992-02 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA, RELATING TO WATERING SCHEDULES; AMENDING SECTION 32.153, WATERING SCHEDULE, TO PROVIDE THAT LOW- VOLUME IRRIGATION DEVICES SHALL NOT BE RESTRICTED AS TO DATE AND TIME OF USE; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 6929-02, adopted January 10, 2002, amended watering schedule provisions and inadvertently omitted a provision regarding low- volume irrigation devices; and WHEREAS, it is advisable to encourage the use of low-volume irrigation devices by providing that their use shall not be restricted as to date and time; now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA: Section 1. Section 32.153, Code of Ordinances, is amended as follows: Sec. 32.153. Watering schedule. * * * * * (1) When using potable water (domestic and lawn meters): * * * * * (5) Establishment of new landscaping, such as trees, shrubs and plants: New landscaping, including trees, shrubs, and plants, may be watered daily if done by hand with a handheld hose with an automatic shutoff. No watering is to occur between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.; aflG (6) Low-Volume Irrigation Devices, defined as micro-irrigation, bubblers, soaker hoses, or drip tubing, shall not be restricted to specific days or times of operation; and ~ ill Miscellaneous - Applicable to all water sources: * * * * * Section 2.
