The Mayor then announced that the meeting was called to discuss protests ' " ':. received relating to the proposed Vehicle Inspection Station on N. Hercules, " ' " North of Marilyn St. The City Manager presented a proposal for locating the' , station in the Industrial Park on the SE corner of Hercules and Calumet St. He also presented another location on the West side of Hercules, South of Range Rd. and recommended this as the best location. He stated that the County is paying $27,500 with plans for storage of 140 cars at the location they bave selected; that the Industrial Park site would store 104 cars with the site selling for approximately $6,000; but the one on the West side of Hercules would include about 3 acres, 170 car storage at a cost of approximately $9,600, plus $1,000 for septic tank installation. He pointed out that this location is 1300 ft. North of the residential area and therefore would eliminate most of the complaints of the area, plus the fact that the taxpayers would save approKimately $17,000. Commissioner Brumfield moved that the City Manager present the alternate plans of the property between the Airpark and the pistol range for the vehicle inspection station to the County Commission and County Administrator, and that the City Manager be authorized to officially object to the C-2 zoning of the property on tbe NE corner of Hercules and Marilyn St. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Williams and carried unanimously.
