08/06/1963 CITY COMMISSION MEETING August 6, 1963 , _._._..~.....~--.,. The City Commission of the City of Clearwater met in special session at the City Hall, Tuesday, August 6, 1963 at 2:00 P.M. with the following members present: Robert L. Weatherly Cleveland Insco Herbert R. Fields Amos G. Smi th Joseph K. Turner, Sr. Also present were: Mayor-Commissioner Commissioner Commissioner Commissioner Commissioner James R. Stewart Herbert M. Brown Willis Booth City fv1anager City Attorney Police Chief Absent: Ma}( Ba ttle City Engineer The Mayor called the meeting to order. The invocation was given by the City Attorney. The City Manager opened and read the bids received for $1,800,000 Utility Tax Revenue Certificates. He stated they were all in proper form. The bids were as follows: Phelps, Fenn & Co. and Associates Net Interest Cost B. J. Van Ingen & Associates Net Interest Cost Goodbody & Co. and Associates Net Interest Cost Blyth & Co., Inc. GITY COMMTSSION DSEE"TINC August 6t 1963 The Mayor reconvened the meeting a't 3:00 P,M. wxth Commissioners Insco, Pields, Smith and Turner in attendanoe� After tabulation, Mr. Leedy reported that the bids ��ere in order and that the bids submitted by Halsey, Stuart � Co, Inc,� � Assooiates, was the highest and best bid and recommended its acceptanGe. Commissioner Turner moved that �hs bid of Halsey Stuart � Co. Inc., E Associates with net �nterest cost tn the City of $�312,757.50 and with net interest at 3,26451€ be accepted and tha't Resolution �€63-87 be adopted and that the proper officials be authorized to execute it and further that �he certifiect checks of th� unsuccessful bidde.s be returned immediately follawing �khis meeting. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Fields and carried unanimously. The i�ayor presented tor approval a schedule ot deadiines relating to the first public heari:�g on zoning changes to come before the City Commission as f.ollows: August 23rd, receip�t of applications; September 9th, recommendations from 1'1ann�.ng and Zoning Board; September 13th, advertisement of p ublic he.ai�in�; September 30th, the public nearing. Commissioner 5mith mc�vad to approve the dates as submitted. I•fotion was seconded by Commissioner Fields and carried unanimously.
