Briley then read ~ letter from tlle Florida State Board of Health approvinf preliminary plans for the incinerator. He also read a letter from an unnamed contractor estimatinp the cost as $877,000. Commissioner Insco moved t~at the letter from the Board of lIeAlth be received for the record. t1otion vIas seconded by Commissioner Turner and carried unanimously. Motion WAS seconded bv Commissioner Turner and carried unanimously. - Mr. Briley presented ~lans and soecifications 011 the Clearwater East sanitary sewer interceptor system which would permit abandoninr the Skycrest sewer plant and certain pumping stations. He also stated that the plans Here ready for the removal of the water tank on East Avenue. Commissioner Insco moved to accent the plans for Clearwater Last interceptor system. City Mana~er reported that a request had been received for with- drawal of Item fi8, which was a request for sirn on i{. Garden Ave. Bldg., advertis- ing Siples Garden Seat restaurant. The Actinp: Ci ty r-1anap,er introduced !11'"'. F. T. CaJ lahan from lJ. E. Greiner Company, Inc., Consulting Engineers, who recommended np~roval of toll collection equinment on Clearwater Pass Bridfe, by Shou~ Electronics. He stated that Shoup had given quotations on three methods of obtaining the equi?ment, one was outright purchase, the second was lease of equipment with maintenance, and the third was a combination of lease-purchase. The third one was recommended by Mr. Callahan, with a down payment of $12,000 plus rental of $14.00 per day or $5,000 per year to handle two traffic lanes. It was the feelinp: of the Commission that this equipment should be a bid item. Commissioner Insco moved to listen to r"-1r. Callahan, and then defer until a work session Friday at 8:30 A.M. Motion was secon~ed by Commissioner Smith and carried unanimously. Commissioner Insco reported hearing rumors rep.ardinp, the City wanting to annex surroundinr. towns and felt this sllould be corrected, as the most important thing is to straiphten out the present boundaries. The Mayor discussed a feasibility study of buyinr. uniform rain r.ear, for some City Departments in standard color, et cetera.
