CITY COMMISSION MEETING
June 22" 1961
The City Commdss~on of the City of Clearwater met in Special Session at the City
Hall" Thursday~ June 22, 1961, at 2:20 P.M., with the following members present:

The Mayor called the meeting to order. The Invocation was given by the City
Attorney,
Resolution #61-61 was presented" adopting a budget for the fiscal year beginning
July 1, 1961" fixing the rate of taxation and giving notice of pUblic hearing thereon.
Commiss~oner Insco moved the adoption of Resolution #61-61, and the proper officials
to execute it. The motion was seconded by Comrrdssioner Fields and carried unanimously.
Resolution #61-62 was presented recognizing the distinguished service of Sidney
Lickton to the Youth of the City of Clearwater, and awarding him the Clearwater Medal.
Commissioner Insco moved the adoption of Resolution #61-62, and the proper officials
be autho~ized to execute it. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Smith and
carried ~nanimously.
Resolution #61-63 was presented naming the Little League Baseball facility
on the west side of C~earwater Air Park !lSid Lickton Field.1I Conunissioner Insco
moved the adoption of Resolution 1~1-63 and the proper officials be authorized to
execute it. The motion was seconded by Cornmissioner Smith and carried unanimOUSly.
Gommissioner Insco moved Ordinance #898 amending the Gas Code, be read and
considered on its second reading by title only~ ,dth the unanimous consent of the
Comrrdssion. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Smith and carried unanimously. The
ordinance was read by title only. Commissioner Smith moved Ordinance #898 be passed
on its second ~ead1ng by title only. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Fields
and carrLed unanimously.
Commissioner Smith moved Ordinance #898 be read and considered on its third
and fina~ reading at this meeting with the unanimous consent of the Commission.
Motion was seconded by Commissioner Walters and carried unanimOUSly. The ordinance
was read in full. Commissioner Smith moved Ordinance #898 be passed on its third
and f1na~ reading and adopted and that the appropriate officials be authorized to
exec~te it. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Fields and car~ied unanimously.
The Mayor recommended that the Board instruct the City Attorney to prepare an
ordinance requiring all residents within 200 feet of a sewer line to tie into said
line. Commissioner Smith moved that the City Attorney prepa~e an ordinance requiring
all residents within 200 feet of a sewer line to tie into said line within one year.
Mot~on was seconded by Corrmdssioner Walters and carried unanimOUSly.
Commissioner Fields moved that the Public Hearing on Fair Oaks Sewer be postponed
to, July ~ 7, as :: ~equested by a substantial nwnber of interested property owners.
Commissioner Walters seconded the motion which carried unanimously.

to execute it. The �otion was seconded by Commissioner Fieids and carried unanimously.
Resolution �1-62 was presented recognizing the distinguished service of Sidney

be authorized to execute it. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Smith and

moved the adoption of Resolution ,-�61-63 and the proper officials be authorized to
execute it. The motion was seconded by Gomraissioner �Smith and carried unanimously.

Commiswion. Motion was seconded by Commission�r Smith and carried unanimously. The
ordinance was read by title only. Commissioner Smith moved Ordinance " 98 be passsd
on its second reading by title on1ZT. Motion wa� seconded b, Commissioner Fields
and carried unanimously.
Commissioner Smith moved Ordinance �/$98 be read and considered on its third
and final reading at this meeting with the unarimous consent nf the Commission.
Motion was seconded by Commissioner Walters and carried. unanimcusly. The orc�inance
wa� re�d in full. Commissioner Smith moved Ordinance #$98 be passed on its third
and final reading and adopted and that the appropriate`officials be authorized to
execute it. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Fields and carried unaiiimously.
