P?Iotion was seconded by Commissioner I?lalters and carried unanimously. Mr. Joe rverett representing Sapir Investment Company, Inc., asked that the previous request to vacate the westerly half of Pierce Street adjoining Block );, Hibiscus Gardens be ti?rithdra«i1. He proposed if the 20-foot street adjoining Lots 3? and 39 in Clearwater Heights was vacated by the City that his client would deed the southerly 20 feet of the east half of Lot 1, R, H. Padgett?s Subdivision, would give an easement for right of Tray or utilities for the north 20 feet of the south 40 feet of the same property, and ti?rould grant the earth 20 feet of the south (0 feet far underground utilitLes only, with the provision that his client be allowed to pave these areas and utill_ze them for parking until Pierce Street is opened. Mr. Wm. Wightman presentee-'- a proposed Pierce Street extension in the Missouri Avenue area which vrould make Pierce Street coterminous. I?1r. Bver.ett said the proposed plan would not be feasible because of the critical parlc?.ng problem. Mr. Francis Linneman, owner of Lots l-7, Bloclc L, I'Iibiscus Gardens, objected because Pierce Street would not be coternLi.nous at ivlissouri Avenue . Th?:re was a question as to paving specifications for . the parking on the easements and the City Attorney suggested the proposed contractor, R. M. Thompson Company, furnish a letter of intent t;o comply with City specifications, Resolution ;,'61-50 was read vacating the 20-foot street in Clearwater Heights, providing that Sapir Investment Company, Inc., gives a decd for the easements as outlined above. Commissioner Smith moved Resolutio?1•;f61-50 be adopted as amended and the appropriate officials be authorized to execute same, I?lotion was seconded by Commissioner Walters and carried unanimously. The City Attorney presented a to purchase Lot 7 and the north 33 of NI;4 of S6?lu of Section 22-29-15, Commissioner Smith moved to ?;pprov? officials be authorized to execute Insco and carried unana.mausly. proposed contract with Mr. Theodore A. Mackey feet of Trot 10, A, H. Duncan Subdivision of WZ for ?>15,500.00 to use as a vrater tank site. the purchase of the land and that the proper the contract, P?Iotion eras seconded by Commissioner I~?ir. I?lally Basl?ovich reported that he had received estimates froair ttvo contractors that it would cost from ;727,000.00 to33,000,00 to repair the fire-damaged Park Inn buildings, and from ?51,000.00 to 156,000.00 to build all new buildings, He said he had an estimate that it vrould take ??1,500.00 to remove the buildings completely from the property, lIis report from the insurance adjustors was that the insurance would pay approximately `y?1u,000.00. He proposed to give the City 1,500.00 from the insurance to be placed in cscroiv to demolish the buildings at the end of his lease. Corn?nissioner Smith moved the Attorney be authorized to wor]c out an agreement along the lines that we have discussed here today to expedite the adjustment relative to the loss.
