12/16/1960 ~9$ CITY CO~~ISSION MEETING December 16, 1960 . :)1 ':';:1 J. ,I ! . ;, The City Commission of the City o~ Clearwater met in special session at the City Hall, Friday, December 16, 1960, at 1:30 P.M. with the following members present: Alex D. Finch Cleveland Insco, Jr. James H. Watkins Amos G. Smith *Robert L. Weatherly Mayor-Commissioner Commissioner Commissioner Commissioner Commissioner *Absent at first o~ meeting. Baskin, Jr. W. lo'Lackey City Manager City Attorney Assistant Police Chief The I~ayor called the meetin~ to order and announced the special meeting was called to restore names to the voting lists if any were omitted. The Clerk pre- sented the lists of the registered electors and freeholders eligible to vote in the election on December 20th as prepared by the County Supervisor of Voting Registration. There were no requests for corrections to the lists. The Clerk also presented a letter addressed to the Commission stating tha~ he had inspected the voting machines to be used in the December 20th election and found them properly prepared for the election. Commissioner Watkins moved the lists and letter be received and approved. Motion was seconded by pommissioner Insco and carried unanimously. Resol~tion 60-98 was presented requesting Pinellas County Corrnnission to repay the ~400,OOO.00 borrowed from the City to ~inance Myrtle Avenue improve- ments. The Resolution suggested that the funds come from the accumulation o~ the County's portion of the seventh cent gas tax. Commissioner Watkins moved Resolution 60-98 be approved and the proper o~ficials be authorized to execute it. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Smith and carried unanimously. Commissioner Weatherly came in at this time -- 2:05 P.M. The City Attorney reported that Resolution 60-98 would be on'the County Commission's agenda at 11:45 A.M. on Tuesday, December 20th, and suggested since he would be unable to be there that the City Manager appear before the County Commission. Commissioner Watkins moved the Manager be instructed to attend the meeting of the County CommiSSion to present Resolution 60-98. r.totion was seconded by Commissioner Insco and carried unanimously.
