June 8, 1860
The City Commission of the City of Clearwater met in special session at the City
Hall, Wednesday, June 8, 1g6o, at 8:15 A.M, with the following members present;

The Mayor called the meeting to order and announced the meeting had been called to
consider approval of the plat of Forrest Hill Estates Unit 4, Mr. W. S. Wightman pre-
sented a print of tre plat and stated the developers were willing to change the original
plat to show a required setbaclc of fifty-five feet from Highland Avenue in the property
zoned for commercial use, The City Attorney read an agreement signed by Mr. W. S, Wight-
man, President, Standard Development Company, which provided the com any would pay
$2,100.00 to the City as one-third of the City Engineers estimated 6,300.00 cost to
correct the erosion in Stevenson Creek between Parkwood and Forrest Hill Estates, He
explained that Parkwood Subdivision developers represented by Mr. Ward Rodgers, Jr.,
have agreed to pay $2,100.00 and that the City will pay one-third since Stevenson Creek
drains other areas also. Commissioner Insco moved the plat be accepted and approved
subject to a letter coming from Parkwood Subdivision or receipt of a check, Motion was
seconded by Commissioner Smith and carried unanimously,
Regarding the suit of Air Zone, Inc., vs. the City, the Mayor recommended the City
Attorney be authorized to defend the City, ask that the temporary injunction be dismissed
and request damages from the $2,000.00 bond posted and the cost of attorneys fees,
Commissioner Weatherly moved to authorize the City Attorney to defend this suit. Motion
was seconded by Commissioner Insco and carried unanimously.
Concerning the suit of Air Zone, Inc., vs, the City, Commissioner Watkins moved the
City Attorney be instructed to attack the bond and recover whatever is possible through
the Court in the ?vay of damages done to the City because of this and reasonable attorneys
fees and costs to be assessed by the fudge as they are established. Motion was seconded
by Commissioner Smith. Upon the vote being talten, Commissioners Watkins, Smith, Insco
and Finch voted "Aye", Commissioner Weatherly voted "No". Motion carried, Commissioner
Weatherly was opposed to extra fees for the City Attorney,
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 8;35 A.M.
