Finch Cleveland Insco, Jr. James H. vlatkins Herbert R. Fields Amos G. Sndth Mayor-Commissioner Comm1ss:1oner Conun1ss:1oner Conun1ss:1oner Comm1ss:toner Also present were: James R. Stewart Owen S. Allbritton W. Mackey City Manager Asst. City Attorney Asst. Police Chief The Mayor called the meeting to order. The Manager reported the City had an offer to purchase a second hand hydraulic boom truck ~or the Electrical Department and the Parks Department at a cost of $7,950.00 from Mr. Lester W. Parker. He recommended the purchase as a new truck would cost approximately $13,000.00. CommiSSioner Fields moved upon the recommendation of the City Manager that the City purchase the hydraulic li~t truck for the Electrical Department and the Parks Department at a cost of $7,950.00, this being an emergency since the owner needs an immediate response from the City. Motion was seconded by Comrndssioner Watkins and carried unanimOUSly. The Attorney read on its first reading Ordinance 841 exclud:tng all marine vessels exceeding fifty feet in length or exceeding eighteen feet in beam from using an area in Clearwater Bay east of Clearwater Beach Island, north of Memorial Causeway and".Memorial Causeway west bridge and south o~ Clearwater city limits. Conunissioner Watkins moved Ordinance 841 be passed on its ~irst reading. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Fields and carried unanimously. CommiSSioner Watkins moved Ordinance 841 be considered on its second reading by title only by unanimous. consent of the Commission. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Fields and carried unanimOUSly. The ordinance was read by title only. Conunissioner Watkins moved Ordinance 841 be passed on its second reading by title only. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Fields and carried unanimously. Commissioner Watkins moved Ordinance 8~1 be considered on its third and final reading by unanimous consent of the Commission. Motion was seconded by Conunissioner Fields and carried unanimously. The ordinance was read in full. Commissioner Watkins moved Ordinance 841 be passed on its third and final reading and adopted and the proper officials be authorized to execute it. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Fields and carried unanimously. Commissioner Fields suggested signs be posted in this area giving the speed limit for boats. By consent, the matter was referred to the Manager and the Harbormaster to work out. Commissioner Fields moved to give the City employees both Thursday and Friday, November 26th and November 27th, off for Thanksgiving holidays. Motion was seconded by Comnissioner Watkins and carried unanimOUSly. The Mayor announced the State Road Department had received a bid of $920,641.26 for paving and improving MYrtle Avenue from South Fort Harrison to Palmetto. He stated there would be a joint meeting of the Cowuission \~th the County Commission and Mr. Al Rogero to see ~n1at can be worked out concerning the extra $70,000.00 needed to finance the project.
