Stewart City Manager RESOLUTION No. 59-38 RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING THE DISTINGUISHED SERVICE OF OvffiN S. ALLBRITTONJ III, TO THE CITY OF CLEAR- WATERJ FLORIDA. \~ASJ the City of ClearwaterJ Florida has established an appropriate medal to be given by it to persons who have rendered outstanding service to the City; and, WHEREAS, Owen S. AllbrittonJ IIIJ has rendered outstanding public service to the City through his untiring efforts and efricient and effective contribution to the success dr the annual Fun 'N Sun Festival of the City in the years of 1955 to 1959 inclusive, during which time he served as Co-Parade Chairman of said Fun 'N Sun Festival in 1955J 1956 and 1957J and as General Chairman in 1958 and 1959; andJ v~EASJ it is desired to recognize his outstanding public service and authorize the award to him of the City or Clearwater medal for his services as aforesaid; NOWJ THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY CO~~SSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATERJ FLORIDAJ IN SESSION DULY AND REGULARLY ASSE~IDLED, AS FOLLOWS: 1. That the City of Clearwater, Florida officially recognizes and expresses its appreciation to Owen S. AllbrittonJ III for his outstanding public service to the City of Clearwater in connection vlith its annual Fun 'N Sun Festival, which has added much to the development of the CitYJ has brought pleasure and relaxation to its citizens and to thousands of its visitors and guests. 2. That the City of Clearwater medal is hereby awarded to Owen S. Allbritton, III for his services as aforesaid and shall be presented to him publicly at the earliest opportunity. 3. S'cewart City Manager H. H. �askin, Jr, City Attorney S. Lickton City Enginee-r �1. Mackey Asst. Police Chief The Mayor called the meeting to order. In accordanee w�.th the reques� o£ the Gommission at titie last meeting, Mr. Carl Hickman, Flarida Power Corporation air condit3oning en;inaer, reported that he had investigated the specificati.ons and plans �'or the Library �,ir conditioning and in his opinion the bid oF X-B Refrigeration and Air Conditionirg Company was the better of the two bids. He did recommend, however, in similar jobs in the future it would be well to have the serv3ces of a professional air conditioning en�ir.eer in wri-�ing out detail plans and specif�.cations, Commiss�oner Insco said he jvould refrain from vcting as he was not at the last meeting. Co,�nmissioner Fields moved the City Manager instruct the Y-B Refrigeration �o proceed with the work and that the previaus mot�an be cancelled. Motian Uras seeonded by Commissioner Ldatkins. Upon the vote being taken, Cominissioners Fields, Vlatkins, Smith and Finch vot;ed "Aye". Comm3.ssioner Insco did nat vote. M�tion carried. In response to a question from the Mayor, Mr. T. R. Yarborou�h stated h� had no� stizfered any damages by the delay in the vrork. The City Attorney asked the Commission to coniirm Resolution 59-38 awarding the C3.ty of Cle&r�aater medal to Owen �. Allbritton, III, Commissio�er Ylatkins moved Resolution 59-38 be approved as written. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Fields and carried unanimously.
