Stewart City Manager RESOLUTION No. 59-16 WHEREAS, the City Comndssion of the City of Clearwater, the Board of County Comndssioners o~ P1ne11as County, Florida, and Road Board Member, Albert L. Rogaro, of the state Road Department of Florida, have met to discuss the construction of roads, dra1nage, etc. in P1ne1las County during the current fiscal year; and, WHEREAS, it was agreed that Myrtle Avenue rrom palmetto Street on the North to Lakeview Street on the South and Lakeview Street ~rom Myrtle Avenue to South Ft. Harrison Avenue, in the City of Clearwater, Florida, should be constructed this year with a joint use o~ secondary road funds and funds to be contributed by the City of Clearwater. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA, meeting in Special Session in the City Hall Auditorium on WedneSday, February 11, 1959, beginning at 1:30 PM, THAT: 1. The Board of County Commissioners of Pine11as County, Florida are requested to designate Myrtle Avenue in the City of Clearwater from Palmetto Street on the North to Lakev~ew Street on the South and Lakeview Street from Myrtle Avenue to South Ft. Harrison Avenue, as a road to be constructed during the current ~iscal year by the State Road Department of Florida, with the use of secondary road funds; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the c~ty or Clearwater agrees to contr~bute the sum of $140,000.00 towards the cost of construction or this project; Provided, However, that if the State Road Department o~ Florida shall determine to absorb a portion o~ said sum, then, and in such event, the City of Clearwater will reduce the amownt of its said commitment by an equivalent amount, and Provided, ~urther, that any sums paid or committed by said City of Clearwater pursuant to this Resolution shall only be paid in equal amounts within the time limits of two fiscal years from and after visible commencement of construction. Be it further resolved that a copy of this Resolution be forwarded to the County Commissioners of Pinel1as County, Florida, and the State Road Department of Florida, % Albert L. CITY COMMISSTON MEEPING February 11, 1g59 The Ci�y Commission o£ the City of,' Clearwater met in special session ab the City Hall, Wednesday, February 11, 1959, at 1;30 P.M, with the following memb�rs present: Alex D. Finch Mayor-Commiasioner Cleveland Insco, Jr. Commisaioner Jamea H. Watkins Commissio:�er HerbErt R. Fields Commissioner Amos G. Smith Commissioner Also present were: James R. St�U3e;rt City Manager Owen 5. Al�britton Asst. City Attorney S. Lickton City Engineer W. Booth Police Chief The Mayor called the meeting to order. The invocatian was given by the Reverend Robert Coleman of First Christian Church, Clearwater. The Maz�ager reported an applicat3.an had been rec�ived to erect a banner sign at Clevela:�d and Osceola to adver•tise the Pinellas County Fair for a period from February 9th to February 28th. He explained it had been the policy to grant such signs ior a maximum of ten days if requesLed by non-profit civic orgar3 zations, Commissioner Insco :;ommented he did not feel it would be setting a precedent to grant this as it would be basecl on the £act that this is a governmental funetion of the County. Commissioner Tnsco moved the request be granted from February gth to February 28th, Motion was seconded by Commissioner Watkins and carrisd unanimously. Tlze Assistant City Attorney read Resolutinn 59-16 which would authorize the contribrztion of $140,000.00 toward the cost of construction of Nryrtle Avenue paving and drainag2 from Palmetto to Lakeview and Lakeview paving from n�yrtle to South Fort Harrison. Commissioner Insco moved for the passage and adop�ion of Resolution 59-16 and that the proper officials be avthorized to execute it. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Fields �;nd carried unanimously.
