In regard to a request to enforce Ordinance 644 concerning abandoned iceboxes,
the Manager reported that :tn the past \'/eek nine violations were found and corrected.
COlllffiissioner Strans reported that some time ago the ~var Mothers had expressed an
intention to contribute something toward the bandshell as a memorial. By consent, the
matter was referred to the Manager to write a letter to the War Mothers advising that
the bandshe11 i'lill be ready .for dedication tn the near future and if the organizat:ton
would 11](e to participate, the President of the JayCees should be contacted.
The Mayor suggested that the Conuui ssion should make an event o.f the begj,nning
of construction of Fire Station /14 and ask: the Manager to contact the contractor
and set up a date so the Conunissioners could be present.
The City Attorney presented Resolutj.c'l1 5'7' -~,2 \<Thich would authorize the payment
of $123.11 to Briley> T:llld and Associates for services in connection with the sewage
sludge digester pro::cct. Conunissioncr Roberts moved that ResoJ.ution 5'1_1~2 be adopted
and the proper officials be authorized to execute it. Motion was seconded by
Conunissioner \'Jatlcins and carried unanimously.
The City Attc!rney pead on its third reading Ord:Lnance 7'43 which would annex
acreage to be knot'Tl1 ao Fair Oaks Subdl vision First Addition :tnto the City limits.
Commissioner Strang moved that Ordinance TL~ 3 be passed on its third and .final
reading and adopted and that the proper of.ficia1s be authorized to execute it.
Motion was seconded by Commissioner l'latkins and carried unanimously.
The City Attorney reported that the Engineer in conjunctic'l1 t.'li th the State Health
Department has been working \'ii th Morri son I s Cafeteria to get them to install a
grease trap and the cafeteria has agreed to the installation but the proposed
locatiotl \'lill extend underground approximately tt.'lO .feet into the City alley north of
Lot 7> Block 4, Gould 8:: Elting 1 s Second Addi tiol1. He said it would be necessary to
prepare an easement from the City to Morrison's Cafeteria for the installation of the
grease trap. By consent, the Commission instructed the Attorney to prepare the
easement.
Commissioner Insco commented that he thought the Police Department should be
congratulated ror its excellent work in apprehending the negro rapist last week.
Conunissioner Inscu mc:ved that the COnllllisslon send a letter of commendation to the
Police Chief and the members of h1 s department .for their action in that case. f.10tion

i'lHEREP.SJ Briley, \'lild and Associates vIere retained by the City of Clearvlater as
Conoulting Engineers by contract dated November 10, 1953; and,
\vHEREI\S, THE SAID Consulting Engineers were retained for resident supervision of
constl"uction under letter dated November 29, 1955, \'1hich t"las approved by the City
Co~ni5sioD nr the City of Clearwater, Florida, on February 6J 1956; and,
~n[ERE~S, said Engineers have performed services in the nature of consultation
during construction and in accordance \'lith the terms of said con tract and have
performed services or supervlslon of construction according to the terms of said
letter; and,
~n[EREI\SJ there is due and payable said Engineers from the City of Clearwnter the
SUln of $123.11 for the foregoing consideration, according to the statement of said
Engineers dated 5/26/57-6;, 25/57, a copy of i'rhi e11 is hereto attached and by reference
made a part hereof':
NOWJ THEREFOREJ BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY CO~mISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER,
FLORIDA, in session duly and regularly assemo1ed, as fo1loV1S:
1. That t11e SUIn of $123.11 be paid f'rolTl the Construction Trust FUnd by the First
National Banlc of Clear~'later, Florida, Trustee thereof' of Construction Trust Fund
Agreement dated November 28J 1955J i'lhicl1 Construction Trust Fund is derived from
proceeds of the sale of' utility Revenue Certj.ficate s, Series of' 1955.
2. That a certif'ied copy of this Resolution be delivered :forth~ith to said
Trustee, \<1h:tch said cert1fj.ed copy shall co nst.i. tute the d:Lrection of' the City of
Cleari'1ater to said Trustee to pay the foree;oine sum directly to the sal Engineers
forth\1ith in compliance wj. th Section 3 (b) and other provisic,ns of said Construction
Trust Fund Agreement.
